Sounds like your dealer needs to be reminded who the customer is and who pays their salary.

^^^  Exactly this.

They can, but they will only deliver Monday to Friday to the address listed on my finance application - so not to my work.

I'm hesitant because when my current car was delivered it was damaged, so I thought it would be better to collect this time, not to mention not having to take any time off work.

It is what it is, trying to not get too stressed out about it.  I'm just waiting for it to arrive at the dealership and then I'll try and work out how I'm going to collect it!  They say 12th March but I'm hoping that's just them trying to manage my expectations, I'm hoping to collect on 9th...that's not too ambitious given it's on route to Emden is it?  Or maybe it is?  Who knows!  The timeframe of when it leaves the factory to arriving at the dealer seems a bit like pot luck from what I've read on here!

Our was en route to Emden on the 25th Jan, didn't get on a ship till 6th Feb & arrived at the dealer yesterday (15 Feb) so that's 3 weeks (plus however long it takes the dealer to prepare it)

ha... they are not inclined to do that, they have to pay for the car when its delivered to them. Once i know the exact hand over date I'll see how it fits in with my requirements..

My FL has been in the UK since end of January and I won’t take it until the agreed date of 1/3/18

Never had a problem with VW when I bought my GTi’s either.

Hi all,

I've ordered a 1.5 TSI DSG SE hatch last Wednesday. The dealer emailed me this morning saying that the build has been confirmed for week 21. A long journey begins... ^^

Doesn't sound too bad, 14 week lead time...IF it's accurate.  My understanding is that the build week is locked around 2 weeks before, when it moved to status 20 on the order system.  Until then, dates supplied are fluid.

I was originally quoted 14 weeks but waited 23.  Some people on here have waited as little as 9 weeks in total.  If you go back a page there's two members talking about potentially quick builds for their 1.5 Octys so fingers crossed for you!

So just got an update from Skoda live chat:

The vehicle arrived at the port of Emden on the 17th Feb, it is now being put into the compound, ready to be assigned a ship.  At the moment the vehicle isn't in the compound so I can't give any sort of time-frame.

I assume 'the compound' is akin to the queue for getting on a ferry?

Sam on the live chat team definitely gives the the most detailed answers.

Here's a section of the Volkswagen compound at Emden Port, those tiny dots are cars! This aerial view represents about a fifth of the compounds at Emden, no wonder they can't predict which ship cars will be going on.

The factory must be working flat out...

Ordered 1.5 150 ACT SE L estate on the 1st Feb, dealer estimate of delivery end of April.

Build week 10 (5th March) confirmed yesterday... fastest ever order to build for me.

That is very good news! Fingers crossed over here for a similar outcome :)

That's unbelievably fast!  There must be a big stockpile of the 1.5 engines!

I'll have to wait and see if my local dealer has any good news next week as I presume there are no facilities to track the order progress otherwise?

Just do a chat on the Skoda UK site, all you need is the order number.

Dealers are only interested in generating new sales

Thanks, I'll give it a go.

Blimey that's quick - not at all jealous here!

I wonder what I might be able to screw out of the dealer for the total lack of contact over the last 4 months - certainly need some floor mats if nothing else. Do they normally supply with a full tank of petrol?

My dealer asked me how much petrol I'd like in my new car (which they do charge for).

Bet they don't buy the cheapest. I'm a bit wary of letting them fill it up, as when we picked up our brand new Roomster the dealer very apologetically informed us that while they'd been filling up at the on-site petrol station, a woman had pulled up alongside & opened her door into ours, hard enough to leave a dent :o:crying:

They gave us 1/2 a tank included and a touch up stuck (which I asked for, but they didn't charge).

Mine is now confirmed for that week as well. Must be the week for 1.5 estates.

Race Blue I hope!

Just been on to the live chat team:

'Thanks, I've checked your order. It left yesterday and is heading for Grimsby.'

One step closer! Still hoping for collection on the 9th is going to be possible, keeping everything crossed.

Nearer 16-17 weeks as build week is not same as pick up from Dealer time

I wonder if the 2 with quick builds have been switched into previously allocated builds for stock, as spec is similar.   Otherwise why the 10 week difference in lead time

Might be worth checking with dealer which engine you will be getting as the 1.5 is changing about June (gaining a gasoline particulate filter).  The old 1.4 is discontinued (across group, think it is by week 26), so engine production changes affect cars built May-July

The conversation was solely about the build week, not the collection date.

Why indeed.  When I was waiting for mine there was someone who got theirs in 9 weeks.  Most seemed to be waiting around 14 to 16 weeks.  Mine was 23.  Go figure.  All of these were similar to mine, vRS TSI DSG .  It would be nice to get an explanation for the wildly varying timescales, especially for customers ordering similar cars at around the same time.  Skoda couldn't or wouldn't give me one.

This is a good point.  I wonder id build weeks may slip due to this change?

But it ok as 'your over it now' aren't you Pete?
