General technical question for those of you lucky ones that have already taken delivery .

Had mine 3 weeks now , question about warning / check lights that come on at start up

key in all the check lights come up on the speedo , undestand that . Stay on short while then all go off  However

My EPC fault Light and Exhaust Control Light , Stay on untill i turn ignition engine on , They then go off .

Can someone check they have the same before i run down to the dealers , and make a fool of myself . Cheers

On my 245, the EPC light and Engine Management Light stay on until I turn the car on

That's not only a check that the "bulbs" are still working, but also the ECU can't tell if everything is OK until the engine is running.

Bringing this thread back on topic, I ordered my 1.0 SE Technology (manual) on 24/11, it was accepted by the factory on 11/12 and has just been given an unconfirmed build week of week 17 2018, this is the week beginning 23rd April 2018.

Is this a normal amount of time to wait or does that seem longer than usual?  When I ordered they expected delivery around mid-February.  The only optional extra I chose was the colour trip computer.

Is it likely this date will move forward with it being unconfirmed, does anyone have any experience of this?

Sounds about right tbh. My date hasn’t moved at all done ordering (wk 1- ordered mid October). Still unconfirmed so I’m expecting it to Be delayed anytime soon!

I ordered a petrol DSG VRS on the 18th of November, not sure when the order was accepted by the factory but it started at unconfirmed build week 5 and has now moved to build week 3. Optional extras included front parking sensors and I opted for the silver wheels over anthracite.

Seems a bit long - we ordered our 1.0 SE on 24 October and have an unconfirmed build week of week 4 2018. Only a few extras (front assist, fold flat front seat, variable boot floor)

Must be a 1.0 Engine delay. 2.0 are on schedule :tongueout:

I just had an email saying confirmed BW 1 now. So its been the same week all along, no alterations! any idea how long it takes from build? Kinda hoping it'll be an 18 plate, but wee need a car so swings/roundabouts I guess!

Roughly 1.5 to 4 weeks from the end of your build week in my experience

Mine was built on the 11th so a week ahead of schedule.  It’s left the factory and is on the way to the UK via a Belgium port.  So, hopefully should be delivered mid-Jan as forecast by the dealer.

Any guide for 1.5TSI manual delivery times, with just a few options (privacy glass and tow-hook the only significant ones)? We may be ordering towards the end of Jan so if it's taking around the 4 month mark that will suit fine to fit in with the PCP / MOT etc.

My 1.5tsi SE Technology, manual was ordered 18th October, built 10th December, arrived at The Port of Tyne 18th December, at dealer on 21st December-am now just waiting to hear about my hand over date.

Does any one know what sort of contact you actually get during/after the build process? I had wk1 confirmed just before Christmas, so it should be built now. When ordered, the dealer told me i'd get a video of it in the factory and all sorts. I'm trying not to bother Skoda to ask them as i'm kind hoping it arrives right away or in March! Knowing my luck they'll register it on Feb 28th!

In my case, naff all really.  I pretty much had to chase the dealer for every scrap of info.  I didn't get a video from the factory and haven't heard one mentioned on these forums.  Once it's built they should be able to tell you when it leaves for the port, when the ship sails, when it arrives and when it's on the way to the dealers.  The dealer should only need a couple of days to prep and do the PDI.  I had my car within 2 weeks of it being built.  I would have thought you would have your car by the end of the month, at the latest.

Hope this helps and enjoy the car when it arrives.

Cool, thanks. I'm not really bothered about a video or anything. I just like information and get a bit narked when people (dealers) say they'll give me info etc and then don't. I'm sure they will contact me to check if I want it 'lifeshined' or not and try to sell gap insurance/body work insurance etc.

Updates seems to vary considerably between dealers, a (diminishing) number of old school staff keep you informed at multiple stages, some don't bother unless you chase them

If you want an 18 plate, discuss it with them, many dealers have a surge of handovers first day so you need to book a time slot (obviously early bookers get the biggest choice of remaining time slots), some allow a 2 stage process, handover/explanations etc few days before, with drive away on 1st March (may depend on how you are paying or if you have part exchange).   Will all depend on when car arrives as they need few days to do PDI

We've already given them our old car on Scrappage. Still need to do the paper work though as its all still in my wife's name. I'm not personally bother for us that its an 18, just the resale value as other people care more about the reg than the condition. We tend to keep our cars for ages and we're desperate to get back to having two! I might chase Skoda later on today and speak to the dealer next week or something,

I must admit, Skoda have a lot to learn in this regard. :crying:

Just adding my 2p ...

Ordered my Vrs 245 end of october, still dont have a build date, and Skoda have said it should be 'roughly' 25 weeks from order date to delivery.

Skoda seem to have really messed the 245 deals up.  The idea now seems to be to try to pee people off with long timescales so that they give up and cancel their orders.  They would rather lose a customer, perhaps forever, than suck their mistake up and keep prospective customers happy.

Prob not far off the truth on that one ... i said i needed it for end of March when my current lease ends, luckily i have my MX5 to roll about in for a while, but others wont be as lucky to be able to wait an extra month or 2.

I managed to grab a 245 that was on display. This resulted in me cancelling my order that I originally had with the lease company. I still have my original order number so just decided to request a delivery update through Live Chat to see if the order number even still exists. Turns out, its still unconfirmed build week 21.
