Had that issue on my Golf, but the Fabia Xenons shine much further ahead. Go back to the dealer and get them checked.

Also, ask if they can check that the auto-leveling system is returning the Xenons to the right position.

:)

You can adjust them manualy with a phillips driver , they will adjust back down when you start doin it then they will stay were you want them and auto adjust to were you left them

You mean you can adjust them without vagcom?

You need Vag-Com (or equivalent) to turn the self-levelling off while you are doing the adjustment, and on again afterwards. Otherwise the self-levelling will just cancel out all your hard work.

I knew that. But Johnny05 didnt say that:confused:

I have this annoying feeling my dealer was unaware of the procedure - must print off the instructions so I can screw the lights down first, then stick them in maintenance mode, adjust at MOT centre, and ensure they're sorted again.

Even the lowering of the car by fitting Eibachs has made the problem even more pronounced, no surprise I suppose LOL

I knew there would be a recent xenon thread somewhere ;)

I just had the first 10k mile service and the dealers said they'd have a look at the xenons for me. They did, and said they are on the legal limit as it is! But country lanes at night...I can see one (very well lit up) foot in front of me, not literally but I have to use full beam all the time to drive safely on unlit roads, and gets annoying flicking them on and off as cars go past. Its not really something I expect to do paying

I adjusted mine manually without vag com and they have adjusted to higher position, night driving was awfull before, aprox 1.5 turn on each lamp

Well after looking at Toms and him being into a couple of different dealers his werent actually set right. Ive set them up and he said his woes are now over. They dont flicker up and down anymore.

I adjusted mine manually without vag com

Then they wont be set correctly and the self leveling will not work.

I'd go to an MOT centre instead of a Skoda dealer - I'm guessing the dealers don't always have MOT certification so how would they know in that case?

In my case the dealer resets it incorrectly every service & then corrects it after I go back, the difference is quite staggering so I'm no longer trusting them to get it right..

may have to visit MK I suppose ;)

I had mine 'set' at the dealer and they are still too low

So - correct me if Im wrong - if the effect of these lights ain't all that good, what exactly is the point of shelling out £500 for them in the first place? What are they supposed to do?

I may just save myself £500 off my order

i adjusted mine manualy when the car was 1wk old, and they do self adjust to were i left them i also get no flicker( think thats to do wiyh the newness wearing off ) dealer have cheaked and said they were fine on my last service and the car is nearly 2yrs old now

lol :D

Im not sure what to do, Skoda UK probably know about the problem already but what could they do?

Before I ordered my Fabia I'd been in an Audi TT with xenons and they were fantastic... so both being VAG I thought the Fabia's would be the same. They must be fine once adjusted but at the moment - :thumbdwn:

When they are adjusted properly they are ace, currently they're too low again so I know what you mean :(

we've got the mot test equipment for adjusting headlamp aim at the garage i work for ,but there is no centre dot on the fabia xenon lamp lens to set them up from so where do you start the setting up from ? the reason i ask is my lamps are out since minor front impact and bodyshop didnt adjust at time of repair .

I think mine could be set too low as well, I do a lot of driving in the dark but not in my Fabia. When I do take it out in the dark I'm not impressed really. If it was my 500 quid I think I would spend it elsewhere, just as well mine was second hand so I got them anyway. I suppose they will be a nice feature to the car when the time comes to advertise it.

I have to say that the standard lights are pretty good IMHO, and miles better than the ones on the Citroen C3 I used to have. Might upgrade the lamps to Osram Silverstars though!

ok thank guys for all thoughts,so i can see that not just me but most of you have the feeling that they are little bit too low.

in the city its good but when im on a dark road i have to be really very carefull or use the bigger lights,to be safe.

thaks anyways

Had the same problem with xenon lights and took the car to the dealer where my friend works. He told me mostly xenon lights are too low from the factory and many clients complain. We readjusted them onto the most upper position and everything is ok now. I´m also driving company C-Class Benz with bi-xenon lights and I dare to say Furby lights better then the Benz. Of course only the lower beam and not the distance lights. ;)

BTW: What does that flickering mean???? Is it shaking of the light ray?
