Had a great weekend, managed to get rid of the quads and fitted my Sportline diffuser. It was a fun project for me and my OCD in the end because you have to be pretty particular with glue removal and re-sticking in the exact same positions (sensor holders, virtual pedal and wiring clips) - a proper James May task :D

I liked the quads and I'm sad I couldn't achieve the look I was after, but no welder could actually see the fact that they weren't straight (even though my friends, family and I could, lol). All they needed were some exhaust-fitting stands, a tape measure and a spirit level but unfortunately they had better things to do. My new diffuser looks great, much smarter and finishes off my unique L&K nicely :)

With nice weather and living 50 metres from the beach we couldn't resist, took Ozzy the cockapoo for a run and was watching the kite buggyer fly around. I've got a power kite somewhere, need to dig it out again!

Last night I quickly washed the thin layer of motorway dirt from the car and then got some photos by the beach - we get some great sunsets here

I think your car looks far far better with these diffusers on instead of the twin exhausts.   I think together with the spoiler they were a bit too much- whole thing looks tremendous now, more subtle and classy.

Cheers mickey, I'm glad you've said that. I wondered what others thought :)and I agree, it looks more classy which I like. Unique looks/spec but using genuine parts

Today was a success at the dealers, I had an oil service, 4 wheel alignment, I had a new front antiroll bar with bushes to fix the squeaky rusty old bed noises from the suspension, and they properly fixed the rattly third brake light that was ignored last time!

Very happy, the car is silent and spot on :)

  • 1 year later...

Over the last 12 months ive been busy....the following things have been done:

A(nother) set of quad exhausts this time a whole catback system with AMG replica tips (no logos). They are loud when under full acceleration but virtually silent when cruising, which is great. And the tips are straight!

Vinyl wrap - rear spoiler as the paint was crap. Rear roof section, outer grill surround and the "chin strap" as I call it which follows the angled lines of the fog lights.

I have legal pressed plates on the way too

Thanks martinib, I'm happy with the result. That last picture you posted was the look I was going for but didn't want the amg logo on my exhaust tips so went for replicas  it sounds great too, a lot of thought went into the actual system, it was done by Eurosport Exhausts in Lytham St. Anne's
