replacement octavia vrs seat base?

Featured Replies

hello people,

new to this :)

just home from picking up my new 2014 octavia vrs. delighted with the car although the drivers seat base is very worn and kind of off-putting. as i had travelled 400 miles for this car it wasnt a good enough excuse to head home empty handed so i took it up home.

after spending a couple of hours googling i cant seem to find if i can buy a replacement base?

i would imagine from the dealer yes but who wants to pay that prices, whatever it may be?

also, if anyone knows where to buy vrs mats?

cheers!! :)

If you bought the car from a dealer, see if they'll help you with cost of a new base ? otherwise scrapyard ?

Superskoda is generally good for accessories, though exhange rate not as good these days, otherwise you can get various mats on e-bay.

unfortunately not from a dealer. yes i was thinking of scrapyard however you dont know whos sweaty a*se has been on it, lol.

i'll check that superskoda out, did see some half decent mats on ebay but would like to keep things genuine

cheers @Cymru Blackline

If I understood you properly, cloth is damaged, not seat itself? We have in our country really good shops which can make you completely new cloth inside car. Depending of material quality, price is different, but possibilities are unlimited. Is there something similar in UK?

yes @nidza, just the cloth is worn at the edge (like where the thighs rub on the end)

i would imagine there are places to do it however i was hoping to just find a new one and change easily, old out new in :)

maybe i'll have to drop into the local dealers, was hoping someone on here had found a website already haha

cheers

New ones will only really be available from a Skoda dealer, looks like maybe £300-400:

Probably fairly hard to DIY fit, but not impossible, so you might want  a dealer or upholsterer to fit it.

Would also be worth googling your area for trim specialists and upholsterers, classic car specialists etc.

And I guess that breakers will only want to sell a full interior or an entire seat.

Im going to renew my Freedom that recently expired (you can trust me on that folks, I'm good for it :)

Just I'm at lunch break from work at the moment so will do that later today.

Just to say I'm just changing my seats over from part leather to full, and will have seats available if you want to go that route.

I'm thinking £300 for them and will put them in the for sale section this evening, if that helps you.

Mine are pretty good nick, I just get fed of of fabric collecting dust myself and always wanted full leather.

Only just went the long drive to pick up my replacement seats y/day so its quite recent and still have the seats in my car !

Dont forget yours still have some good value even with the wear too, if it seems expensive, but you could sell them on and could be an easier / direct option without even costing that much.

What a great opportunity to put alcantara on your seats for a fraction of price.

ok guys, i managed to get some photos up so we can all see what i am talking about, may not seem that bad but its off putting for me.

and what are these seats actually called, just "vrs half leather"?? with the red stitching.

Seems like a piece of cake for upholsterer. Only front part needs to be replaced, why should you consider buying complete bottom part of seat?

Thinking it would be so much easier to just unbolt this and put a new one in. If i could find that is...

Wow forget it anyway you are in Scotland. I guy with mk2 interested in them anyway not on Briskoda but already has plans coming down for some other guys stuff and I'm on the way so think mine are sold now tbh, so thankfully I'd save you the enormous costly trip :D

I just checked and the patch is about 40cm x 20cm or so. Unfortunately the rear seats are too small to provide donor of the identical material.
