Electric windows problem

Featured Replies

I fitted a set of Heko wind deflectors to my 2011 Greenline at the weekend.

The windows predictably bounced back when trying to close but I eventually got them shut by teasing them up a little at a time.  The problem is that now the driver's window one-touch close/open function no longer works, nor can I operate the windows remotely using the key fob.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Is there a fix?

You can reset the windows by lowering them via the switch and hold the switch until you hear a click, then raise the window, holding the switch until you hear a click.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I'll try that tomorrow when I get home.

Followed your instructions but no change.

Sounds to me like you have hit another problem! Perhaps remove them and see if its actually them or if the switch is at fault... Also that none of the wires in the door bellow have snapped as they are prone to do this.

The instructions to re-set, although helpful, is somewhat incomplete... You need to fully lower the window, holding it open for a few extra seconds once there. Then fully raise, again, holding in fully up position a few extra seconds. Both windows.... Sometimes, this is needed to be done a few times to fully work, especially if you have had water ingress. When you are doing this, try it with the auto function clicked on and again, just manually, if no joy. Deffo worth a few variations before moving on to other reasons.

I don't understand this bit.  I only have the option to operate the windows electrically not manually.

Aside from that, I did as instructed and the faults are still there.

Well, here's a weird thing.

I went out in the car tonight and opened the driver's window and it went fully down on one-touch.  Checked the open & close function with the remote and it's working fine again too.  I hadn't touched the car since trying the remedies suggested already but everything is suddenly back to normal.

I don't know if it was anything to do with the advice given but thank you all anyway.
