I did remember seeing 146 degree c once at Donington in the summer a few years back 😅

I think that's much too hot.  I had that discussion with a friend a few years ago when I was seeing 108 - 109 on a Tiguan with a tuning box fitted.

He was a chemical engineer and a senior exec with BP.  I'm pretty sure he said that anything over 130 would lead to the oil breaking down.

  • Thread cleaned again. did some this am but rushing for a meeting.   please keep the bickering to a minimum.   if you don’t agree that’s fine, but as per the guidelines, please be nice

  • Noticed i didn't update this after street weekend. Was eventful.   On the cover   Made it to pod and in line first day was just to get a number on the board don't want to break

  • This is going to be a long post!   Finally got to splitting the 5 Speed box to finally see what the damage was and there was nothing left of 4th gear

Yeah it is that’s why I went for an external cooler after that

noticed it was running pretty cold due to the cold weather so friend was selling this to help block the oil cooler but it doesn’t seem to like the milotec grill.

Bit Of a messy install that for a gauge good sir ,  could you not of engineered a nice vent gauge pod?

something properly engineered like this would do the trick not just stuck through the vent 👍

Little test session at Crail on thier track yesterday, Mainly for datalogging and watching temps to see how it copes on track. Was running great until the last session.

after the first couple of laps the car started spluttering go into limp mode but instead of letting you drive it would just die (not the best when you're on track!) Into the pits plugged in VCDS and came back with a fuel pressure regulator valve code. Cleared it and then car wouldn't start great. Had a look had it and it looks like the cable on the plug was abit tight so loosened it and made sure it was plugged in properly and car fired right up so luckily nothing broke. Always have been happy to talk about the failures unlike some other people that seem to hide them and not mention them so it makes it all look good :) all part of the adventure of these cars.

Also hate steering wheel controls on track.

1st session

2nd session, mistakenly hit the phone call button on the wheel and ended up calling my friend 😂

3rd session mistakenly hit the voice activation button on this one

last session go pro died on this one

Would be interesting to know how many diesel cars actually turned up, as 2nd in diesel class isn’t that impressive if only a handful of diesels turned up …

Yea you paying £275 entry and a ton of diesel is loads of fun when you haven’t even got a car to compete with the big boys? Why would I turn up in a stage 3 Skoda fabia vrs running a mere 380 bhp when there are people turning up with 1000 bhp plus American muscle cars who will easily win the £1000 jackpot price

Only 1000bhp? Not sure what event you followed but there was RS3’s making more than that 🤣 never mind Andy’s car that runs 6s at over 200mph and if you paid attention there was classes but then you’d still have got gapped in the fwd class if you turned up😅

Classic , this coming from the guy who got beat in every class he competed in but I’m the loser for not turning up to be cannon fodder  🤷🏻‍♂️ as for FWD class your probably right being as though any k20 Honda civic could probably turn up with over 600HP with minimal supporting mods and weigh about as much as a bean can.

who said I was there to win 😂 also it’s you’re not your but this is keeping a lot of us that competed in street weekend entertained and a laugh including the rtmg folk that were there 😂

Took it back up to crail last weekend. New fastest time and trapping a lot faster than it did on the old engine.

Vs 500whp corsa c

Fn2 civic

Astra VXR

2jz s13

Next one was the fun one

Vs b204 Astra

As you can hear shifting from 2nd to 3rd and didn’t have a 3rd gear. On my mounts they are solid mounts which have spacers on them like this

image.thumb.png.b0d273fec25341107d1bfb978e4992ee.png

the nut had came off and the spacer came out and lodged itself in the cable engine pulling the linkage out when I changed gear 😂 thankfully an easy fix.

Darkside wanted the car at a show down their way so it went down at the weekend.

when the car originally went on this engine it was given a base map then every since then it was remapped remotely on the road so never knew how much power it made. It’s also got some new experimental cams as well and thought why not see how much power it has. Certainly surprised us and explains why it’s faster than it was before! Now on 172 dyno pulls on darksides dyno 😂

last day of the year out at crail, times down due to no heat in the ground but fastest trap speed its ever done so making the power still

53330696197_b1f85a0b42_c.jpg

53331573191_cff8ba6e94_c.jpg

Racing a PD160 Cupra with a 2260 and 100bhp of nitrous on top

Racing a friend who does VWDRC in his 20vt Lupo on drag slicks, no traction for me at all but still reeled him in

PD130 ibiza with a PD150 turbo

Racing a friends clio 182 turbo, ran out of meth but before this run and forgot to top it up so was a fair amount of power down compared to usual

Then ended the reason with a trip to pod with the AWD RX7
