Finally got the Vibra Technics Solid engine and gearbox mounts fitted.

Was worrying about the vibrations but i feel theres actually less than with the standard mounts and a hell of a lot less than with the standard mounts and powerflex dogbone mount. Gearchanges are also alot smoother and direct and taking your foot of the clutch is alot better and smoother now too.

Last outing of the year. Scottish Road Car Series at Kames. Event was run as a solo but also as a Pro/Am.

Asked a few people but they already had plans so Rory(originiser)  suggested Emily Glanvill who raced Minis, Autograss and the junior saloons getting a scholarship.

Since she raced the mini's after i stopped really being involved i hadn't heard from her but she had some good videos battling Adam online so spoke to both friends who race them Adam and Hannah Chapman and both rated her really highly so thought why not.

Ran it on the ZZR's and they were pretty good in the wet, Had to drop the pressures down to 24psi though.

1st test was really tight more so at one part where the fabia's turning circle was god awful. Noticed one time Emily managed to get it round without reversing and went 7 seconds faster. In the series if you hit a cone you get a 5 second penalty so going forward she was told to hit the cone as even then if we are losing 7 seconds we would still be 2 seconds up.

2nd test was using the main Kames sprint track which i felt suited the fabia alot more. Noticed that someone had been dropping oil down so on my last run i left traction control on and went 2 seconds faster. Emily as well tried it again with the traction control on and also managed to be 2 seconds faster.

3rd test was both combined. Carrying alot more speed into the kames spring course then cutting to the right at the cones on the first run i carried so much speed the back end stepped out and i was waiting for it hit the tyres as i tried to correct it thankfully never hit the tyres!

Some how i managed to come away with driver of the day and i have to say that Emily is an amazingly talented driver and i think with some more time with the car she would have been frightenly fast,

Again the car was flawless throughout which just goes to show the amazing work that @hutchysrs50 from Modified Lights UK, ADE Tuning, Darkside Developments and MVR Scotland have put into it.

Car will now go to Darkside and ADE Tuning for some more work and looking forward to do it again next year.

Straight pipe your diesel they said...... it won’t be loud they said....

Edited by AMD87

Available are different sizes of resonator boxes that can be used to quieten the sound level and it's still a straight pipe. I have a small one at the rear and large one in the middle and mines  no louder than a standard system with baffled boxes. It may be quieter.

They can do silencers aswell depends on how annoying I find it to get them to fit one

Exhaust sounds great! Almost went for this mod on the VRS. Definitely glad i discovered ADE tuning as well, they really are one of the best

If its green it will be mine, every mod and minor problems sorted ADE,  though it's just service and MOT these days. Gonna get the wifes Monte MK3 there next year for Map + brembo's 110 to 130bhp Rachel calculated.

Just a service and a map tweak.

Ok, will you be there early morning, say just after 9am? Thought S I live close I'd nip down to say hi.

Probably will depend on traffic

Ok, see you about half 9 to ten

Car went into ADE Tuning today as it was on the road home from Anglesey. Plan was a quick service and map tweak plus get them to look at a couple of things i had concerns about which turned into a 2 day affair as my concerns were worse than i thought!

ADE Tuning sorted it out amazingly and we stuck it on the rolling road and tweaked the map for the exhaust. if we round up the figures it made 204BHP and 366ft lbs, really happy with that.

Limiting factor now is the intake need to try and get a better one to feed more air into the turbo.

Maybe relocate battery to the boot and fabricate a CAI near the headlight with all the space?
