I have just purchased a new Fabia Estate and am very pleased with the car so far.

I am trying to get my Smartlink to access the offline maps on my android auto, but it will only run the navigation mode when my android phone is online and using up data.

How can I sync the Smartlink to use the offline google maps, please?

If I run the google maps app on my phone to navigate to a destination and then connect to the Smartlink with the USB cable the system works fine, but will not 're-route' etc., until I put my phone back on to use data.

Why is this?

AndroidAuto and Apple CarPlay use data to provide map data and rerouting etc. 

 

You can download an area of maps offline from Google Maps but it will not reroute you without data.
