Dpf removal and remap

Featured Replies

Was just wondering as the dpf light is emitting quite regularly and regenerating now as the car passed 100k miles, and was wondering what the best course of action would be: credited removal and remap or just a new dpf? Or just leave as is and go with the over 2000rpm method clean out.

If the removal was the best option, would the car be very smoky?

We had issues with our DPF (and turbo and EGR) when we got a REVO map done. We got the turbo refurbished and the EGR and DPF cleaned. Been fine since although it still regenerates quite often.

This is the guys that do the DPF clean.

Yea just heard that later on a blocked dpf or regularely blocked dpf can cause turbo issues so I'm very tempted going the disable route as it'll prevent any bother later on, what symtoms did you experience with a dodgy egr?

The car I have is also standard and has never been mapped so that's why I'm looking for a bit of advice on the matter.

Also the trips I do are intermediate between long and short so may be just a dpf clean out would be enough as I wouldn't be a believer in remapping but what ever the procedure that has to be done in order to improve the car then it has to be done.
