Question about K&N 57s Installation

Featured Replies

Looking at upgrading the intake on my GTI and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the 57S?

Also, I have had the oil consumption fixes done so would this affect any of the exsiting piping? Im mainly worried about the little breather pipe going from the intake hose.

Lots of money,

in South Africa this was the mod a tuning company did for Polo GTI Twinchargers, and they sold them,

maybe just fabricate the same since your battery is in the boot. Much Cheapness.

Thanks for the info. Would those mods affect the pipe with the breather mod?

If its the Polo i presume (6R) 1.4 TSI lots of options,

For cars with the breather pipe mod there is a little plastic nipple sticking out on one of the pipes (see pic below), this is where the breather pipe connects to.

Most aftermarket kits have this now, you would be better gains with induction kit than just a filter

Thanks Kobayash, the forge one looks good.

The second one, does it have the breather pipe connection as well?

Best not judge a book by the cover then, the Forge ones were pants, no idea if better.

As to K&N filters, what a PITA cleaning properly / regularly.

I use them Offroad where keeping H2o out is important.

This VWR one also has breather pipe. To be perfectly honest induction kits are really overpriced. I mean when you look at the components its just plastic domes with

Flexible 1980's Hoover pipe most of the time, Most get you between 8-10BHP (maybe more)

In the end i stuck this one on my VRS

are the oil consumption fixes for the 1.2 tsi?

No, the 1.2 TSI's do not really have high oil consumption issues commonly.

The 1.4TSI / TFSI Twincharger had updated Oil Breather Pipes / Valves and a software update.
