Side mirror glass replacement

Featured Replies

Really simple - I had some absolute toss pot drive past me in the other direction (in another Octavia actually!) and smash my mirror.

The glass is just clipped in place with a wire for the heated glass - 2 minute job to replace.

Thank, so you just pull it straight out? I dont want to damage anything.

Tilt the mirror all the way down.

This should give you enough space between the glass and the mirror housing to get your fingers in and prise the glass off.

It is secured using small plastic tabs around a circular backing pad, so be sure to apply pressure as evenly as possible to avoid flexing the glass or damaging the plastic lugs.

Be aware that the glass has an electrical connector used to power the heating element, so when the glass releases be careful not to stretch the wire or damage the connectors.
