Featured Replies

Remember filling in the Top Gear Motoring Survey of customer satisfaction ?

Well, both the Octavia and Fabia have done really well:-

OCTAVIA - 3rd

"Skoda just keeps getting better, with the Octavia leading the way"

Score of 90.4 (Winner was Jaguar XJ with 90.9)

FABIA - 11th

"Second placed supermini"

Score of 88.1

Subaru Impreza anyone ? New shape (WRX) 15th, Classic shape 26th

:drive:

How many Jag owners are going to bite the bullet and admit they bought a lemon anyway ?

Great Result :color:

Yep, just spotted it as well. Super result, even better than in NL!

Subaru anyone? Yes, the Legacy is in 10th place, so my last two cars are both in the top ten... :D

Rob - I got an email saying the results would be in Top Gear magazine. Have you bought that, or is it available online somewhere?

Will be buying the mag today.
Me too, although I am not expecting to find much to read in it. Bring back Motor!!!

About the Legacy I assume, not that Skoda are 7 places ahead?

Precisely the fact that the Skoda is seven places ahead! :D

Octavia outperforms WRX:

Tsk. I wonder how that got started ;)

Interesting to hear that someone thought the Octy was ugly compared to a WRX.

It's a strange world when anyone can think that the 'blob eyed' Impreza is better looking that the Octy.

Damn, the only car I can think of that is in 'blob eye' league is a 98-00 Corolla lift-back, and that's one mother ugly motor!

No disrespect to the old shape Impreza though, the P1 was and probably still is the best-looking Jap rally car.

LOL! Just tried to follow the scoobynet link' date=' and was hit with a "restricted site" warning from our filtering software. Seems that it considers SN a "chat" site.

Doesn't stop me from looking at Briskoda though... although I'm sure it's only time....[/quote']

I read it - you didn't miss much Steve.

Rob, I guess you're Flat 4x4 over there??? Shame on you!! :D :D

:D gotta love scoobynet for that kind of debate :)

(and Rob, shame on you! :D)

I did wonder who the stirrer was............:D

That ianc character seems to be wading in, wonder if he is on here? ;)

I'm proud to have been a "farmers only, sheep toting, horsebox towing, muddy-welly,wipedown interior" Subaru owner five times over

Yes, he is very even-handed in his judgement, isn't he? :D

So much for VAG Platform sharing:

Octy 3rd

A3 52nd

Leon 53rd

TT 56th

Bora 79th

Beetle 97th

Golf 106th

Parts are shared, but it's the magic weaved in the design and contruction that sets them apart... :)

Rob.

Surprised to see VW doing so badly .... perhaps we have lower expectations ?

Wash your mouth out, please! :cussing:

Having had a look at the full list, I am off to fix the 4X4 badge to the radiator grille of my car. However the 1.4 16V badge stays put on the rear as a tempter..... rolleyes.gif

I showed this to a work colleague. She said "well, you Skoda owners are all nuts" :D

Still, I almost persuaded her to buy a Fabia vRS to replace her (5 year old) Polo... but the delivery dates on black Fabia vRSs was too long. She now has a new diesel VW Polo....

I hang my head in shame (or modesty?) for fueling the Scoobynet debate :)

However...have you noticed how a few of the people posting are actually changing their tone to 'fair enough' rather than 'ha,ha,ha a Skoda?'

I take my hat off to the Briskoda pioneers that got me seriously interested in the Octavia a mere 8 months ago :)
