Few bits sorted on the Fabia

Added switchback DRL's to give the old thing a bit of modern tech, not quite finished, yet to add a relay so they switch off once the sidelights are flicked on, pictures aren't great, it looks better in person

Me and @Updown789 (I say me, it consisted of me looking on trying not to get in the way :D) also sorted 3 things of 4 on the coolant, new washer bottle, output pipe (as I believed it may have split) and thermo sensor (the original was missing a washer so coolant was leaking out)

Before anyone says anything, yes it was topped up after the photo was taken!

Also cleaned up the under tray whilst it was off as it was caked in oil, no before picture, but it was bad

Gave the interior a good scrub today and got rid of some of the lurking stains around the car

Also went ahead and removed some of the stains from the headliner too, I won't bore you with pictures on that one as it wasn't too bad :)

Also gave the car a quick scrub in prep for a 1500 mile round trip to the alps next week

To end it off, a quick video showing how the daytime running lights work :)

Nice start to the Fabia Saloon project.

It's crying out for Alloy Wheels though, maybe a set of Fabia VRS wheels?

Everyone keeps telling me :D the set I really want came up on Facebook for £250 on Saturday, but have not the funds at the moment, looking for 16" spiders as the Fabia vRS wheels have been done already if that makes sense?

Thanks lol, I have other problems I'm afraid!

Any suggestions on the following fault codes?

The ones I know about are the EGR valve and coolant temperature sensor, the rest is the codes that worry me! Since I picked the car up I've been running 98, I put in 96 in yesterday and after a couple hundred miles it well south, stalling when I just put the clutch in and stop, rough idle, struggling to start, I've scanned the forums a bit so have an idea what it might be, but there's a lot of answers out there, so any opinions welcome

Game over for the Fabia, been given an estimated repair bill of £2000 by the garage.

Needs the following -

New clutch

New discs and pads all around

New exhaust

New coolant temp sensor

Valve recirculation flap

New EGR

There a couple of other items too, but can't remember exactly what those were, need to consider what options to look at next.

Keen to keep this car alive so keep watching, don't want this to be the end just yet..

Sad times... I suspect an engine transplant for something very wholesome and possibly with forced induction would help matters??

Not just yet, thought about it over the last 24 odd hours and decided the cars going to live on, working through this list below of all things broken..

Little confused at the coolant sensor caused by a coolant bottle one, it has a brand spanking new bottle so will just be replacing the sensor

Picking the car up tomorrow and first job on Sunday with @Updown789 will be fixing the starter motor wire and putting new Bosch coil packs and NGK spark plugs in.

So far total cost is £129.93 saving £205.55 this includes fixing the starter motor wire (if there's nothing needed to be purchased to fix).

Spent this morning unplugging lots of things, scanning a lot of things, trying to diagnose the issue. The main fault code we have is P0171 and running to lean.

It ran alright for a second once we unplugged the coolant temp sensor, than starting running bad again pretty quickly.

Cleaned up the throttle body and reset it, checked the fuel injectors and they were clean, checked the servo vacuum hose, no splits in the hose

Currently sat head scratching as to what it could be, we did think it might have been the 1st lambda sensor, but this is reading that the air fuel ratio isn't right so don't think its that.

Also replaced the coil packs and spark plugs, spark plugs were definitely knackered, coil packs not so bad but 2 were pretty burnt.

No pictures of the new discs and pads, I'm sure most will know what that looks like, now running ATE pads and discs on the rear and stops much better :)

Fronts didn't actually look that bad at all so won't be swapping out just yet.

Again thanks to @Updown789 for his help.

I did also purchase new front wishbones and ball joints, but upon closer inspection everything appears good with no play so these will be kept back as spares
