Help! another dead 1.8 tsi (11 Plate - 50k)

Featured Replies

Help,

I bought a Secondhand car 4 years ago,  with 11k on the clock  it was and continued to be serviced at the main dealer. 2 weeks ago Tried to start the car and nothing, eventually  starter just spins up  "thats not good i thought"

Towed it up to the local garage who have taken starter and sparks out tried turning over by hand and its locked solid. - Diagnosis Chain jump and its going to be expensive. Being well out of warranty i dont expect much if any support from skoda. My main problem is my local doesnt have the tools to do the job, so rang round the two local vw indy's  1 has the tools and doesn't want to touch it, and the other doesn't have the tools. So I am looking for help as to where to go. I have looked at VegeUK and have a quote of 3125+ for a complete engine exchange. but by the time i add labour that just writes off the car. HELP!  Sorry should say I am based in Torquay, I have the ability to tow the car to another location round the country.

Try Skoda UK, it's not like they aren't aware of the problem, they can't claim they don't know about it either.

It has full main dealer service history, this is worth a lot when it comes to getting any goodwill out of Skoda UK.

Try here...

...but these days a post on social media can have better results.

Skoda UK will insist you take it to a Skoda main dealer who will charge a diagnostic fee, but this is the only way you'll get them to consider a gesture of goodwill towards a new engine.

I assume you bought the car from a franchised Skoda dealer, what have they said?

Be sure to post here too, another name on the list...
