I can be like that.

@artoman any update about the rear camera?

Does it works ok?

@ksts my camera works ok, I don't do calibration, but camera works.

Great!!!

I also want to install rvc on my facelift Octavia and I don't know what I'll face.

A friend of mine, tried to install rvc but failed.

I'll order the camera and I'll do my try.

I agree with you.

Used one is good solution.

I don't speak Polish so I can't buy from this site.

Has anyone had success in ordering either an original camera, or an aftermarked camera, installed it, and coded the headunit via VCDS and got it working on a OC3 Facelift?

I'm looking for a solution myself, but I'd rather have it right the first time.

Any recommendations (I need only the "low" with washer line).

BTW, could somebody explain to me what "coding of camera" is about?

Are there some SW and coding INSIDE the camera, which needs to be coded on the camera? Why is that, and where is the trouble in this?

No coding in the camera, you need to tell the Bolero/Amundsen/Columbus system that the camera is connected and to show the image from the camera when the car is put in reverse. You need access to VCDS or OBDeleven to do this.

Well, multiple persons are talking about coding the camera itself (as I read it). I see various sales post on the internet, where there is an option for having the camera-coded-before-shipping.

On VW modul there is, as the first item under cameras, the option of "1 x Parameter file uploading to your product, what you bought in our site.".

Hmm?

I believe that may be for the high-line OEM camera as it has a canbus module (separate box) that needs to be coded for your car.

Hello,
when I bought a new camera without software I had errors: B201000 no basic settings, B201300 no final production programming, U101300  driver uncoded, the camera cannot be coded by VCDS..... Only after load the software using ODIS, the camera can be coded.

So If I buy a LOW camera, it is plug and play (VCDS adaptions of Headunit, though)?.

Does anybody have links to a washer-line kit?

This is something I'm considering adding to my Challenge Estate when it warms up next year. I'd prefer highline with the moving guidelines, washer nozzle etc, so it would be useful to know:

a) Calibration of lines. What is involved? Can it be done DIY on a driveway easily, or is this more involved - dealer only? I have VCDS and would ensure I buy a camera from one of the Polish sellers with the firmware preinstalled, but calibration is a bit of a mystery.

b) Washer tube. Most kits don't seem to come with a connecting tube for the washer. Is there a Skoda part number for this? Is there a connection point on the rear wiper motor or does it just tee into the rear wiper tube somewhere? It would be good to see some photos of an install, if any are available.

a) Calibration isn't required for the camera to function - I've certainly not bothered.

b) Ideally you need the proper connectors.

Pipe end connector x4 5J0955871A

Rubber elbow x1 5E9971829A (easier than squeezing loom through existing elbow)

Pipe Y piece x1 1J0955873D

Washer pipe x1 1J0955751D

Yes, the camera needs a parameter file uploading to it in order to be recognised by the car. This can be doing using Vag Can Pro (VCP). Everything else can be done with VCDS after that.

I bought this rvc
https://m.aliexpress.com/item/4000164914793.html?spm=a2g0n.orderlist-amp.item.4000164914793&aff_trace_key=0d40a04d62154208a79082a7e6cbf34c-1575485999488-09134-2u6jmaU&aff_platform=msite&m_page_id=1598amp-pHr5Gzo3xhy7BBv9T8p_5Q1576488345795

and yesterday i was tested if works and cooperates with canbus.
The connection was very easy. The seller had already done all the job. You only have to remove the cable from the blue rvc connector and put it into the car's same blue connector. The other connector is just an adapter that you have to connect. And then you must give power to rvc by connecting the fuse to the fuse box. I used the original cameras position.
The coding was already done by itself!!!
One day i must pass the cable through the seats and install the camera. Now i have the cable wrapped in the passengers box.
When i finish the job i will upload photos.

I bought original parts from VWmodul; HIGH camera with washer, washer-kit, wire-kit, Parameter-file as per VIN.

Now fitted, with a quick support from Sasha (thanks!).
Works perfect.

I do have the fault-code that the camera is not calibrated - but this was expected. I will leave as is.

Hello @ksts, any progress with the installation? Thx!

  • 1 year later...

Hi, @Octy111 out of interest did you have to run the wiring back to the head unit?

Thanks
