ANyone know what size torx I need? I’m going for powder coated

Don't know sadly, but I'll be finding out soon (you'll probably beat me to it and help me out!) because this mod is next on my list. I cannot stand seeing a shiny clean tip on the right and a filthy sooty one on the left constantly. The fake tip thing is an awful trend and so naff. I was following a Golf R the other day and only the outer 2 trims were sooty, the inner trims are just fake. I mean, seriously how much does it cost to join the trim to the silencer? It can't save much money! I look at CLK63's when I see them and wonder if I should link up a quad pipe set up on my CLK55 but to do it right you have to chop into the spare wheel well and that's a no but at least both of my tips are connected!

IT annoys me to no end. My SQ5 was great proper exhausts then with the new model it’s the stupid terrible looking tips. I’ll be doing mine tonigh :-)

On the golf R all pipes are functional, it's just that on the 7.5 the inner pipes are only used if you're in race mode.

I see, this one mustn't have been in race mode much! Still seems stupid as it makes them look fake; I honestly thought they were after seeing that and it just looks naff either way.

I plastidiped mine. Not sure if they'll last.  Will keep you informed

Thank you, where is the rear diffuser from?

It’s a maxton design rear diffuser.

I had it but changed to the Rieger rear diffuser as that wouldn’t fit correctly for me even with a bit of jiggery and pokerie. Lol

Hmmmm I'll just make a warranty claim as it doesn't look like Skoda can make it last either

@A18kny yes it's the Maxton one. Only slight issue are 2 of the fins not exactly flush to bumper but otherwise fitted very well for me

I agree, that's why I did this to my vRS Diesel:

I have also painted the tips black (Skoda Black Magic) and they have lasted well.

I was worried about the tips heating and destroying the paint but now I can see that even snow doesn't melt from the tips.

The fake tip thing Is probably the worst trend ive seen. It’s so pointless especially the cars where it’s just bumper trim to look like exhausts !!!! Kill me now

i think we all agree its naff, but it was probably more about saving skoda money for having to redesign two different rear ends for essentially the same model on the exterior, afterall they are all about saving money...
