Traction Control OFF button for Uphill Snow

Featured Replies

Hi All

Is there a way of knocking the traction  off temporarily (so both wheels will spin freely) on the MK3 monte Carlo 2016?

This is something i can easily do for the MK2 VRS as there is a button for it.

This is for uphill side street snow churning....

With Traction ON  both cars will not get up my local side street, the VRS  can cope as there is button for traction off but the MK3 cannot

It is in the car settings in infotainment.

Yes, Fiddle around with the Infotainment, you can find many settings in there.

Not 'Simply Clever' ,

no Button to switch off TC / ASR when you want to rock a car back and fore to get unstuck, or to stop brake nipping and throwing you off track.

I hope its simple as i need to show the wife!

Cost reduction.... SW is the cheapest route.

?

Can someone describe please what the procedure is now for someone jumping in an un-familiar car, maybe not their car.

Does it have to be 'De-activated' or can it be displayed to 'De-activate' / Switch off,  then switch back on simply.

As it is required, as a driver drives, stops, switches off to get moving, then activates TC again!

From what I tested, you can change it in on the fly while driving.
My VW Polo has a button on the dash, and to disable the TC you had to press it for about 3 seconds, and then the light for TC would blink on the dash, representing, that it was turned off. If you press the button again it is turned on again.

In the Fabia, you go in to the CAR menu in infotainment, then press the Settings button on the screen and then a list menu appears and the first option is the TC menu. You can choose activated or deactivated. what happens after you deactivate it, I have to check since I forgot, because I do not need it disabled.

Ok... Tested today.

Driving speed does not affect the option of TC. It does not enable it back if turned off. Ignition restart enables it again. The default is obviously activated.

If disabled via infotainment, the MFD displays an icon for TC and the ! Icon.

All this can be done during driving.
