New vRS back in dealers

Featured Replies

has this been seen on a skoda?

why? you worried? :D

apparently there have been instances reported with the vRS we have, IIRC you have to hold it on the limiter for a few seconds before the fault code is written to the ECU.

They have apparently succesfully fixed the new turbo on. The problem now occured taking it off the ramps.

It is currently in the body shop.

All I can say, is I better not be able to see any repairs.

OMG  one thing to another, I think your being very understanding in the circumstances - but your right, if there is the slightest sign of repair I think I would reject the car -- it would be a constant reminder of the problems, which otherwise are now hopefully fixed.

Hope there is not too much damage and you get it back ASAP

Update - I have my car back, as good as new. Yes, I know - it IS new. Not had chance to see if the problem has been solved yet. I do hope so. The suspense is killing me, but have to wait for the roads to be quieter.

Oh, and HI :wavey: to the person in Skoda Technical who trawls the site. :D

I'll post later about the problem, if it has gone, or if it's still there.

Yes, this is THE place to pick up useful technical info.

Great news Dave

Let's hope its finally sorted for you... you can look forward to killing some ASBO's again ;)

Come on in and say hello, we don't bite :) . Their actually a very friendly bunch around here

Dave it's a known Fsi problem, shame Barry vrs ain't around he rejected several of the first batch of Golf Mk5's for the same reason. He had 3 registered to him at one stage all in the dealers waiting for new bits when they first came out. His right foot allways was heavier than his left, a limp i think you call it.

Interesting, a valuble source of info as always matey. Thanks.

As it happens, the fault is still there. I'm bitterly dissappointed. I love the car, it's a peach to drive, great driving position, excellent handling, let down by an annoying recurring fault.

I know what my plan is now. I'll keep you all posted.

I'm gutted. :(

Hope everything works out for you in the end

What do I do? Ride around in courtesy cars until Skoda decide how to fix my car, SO IT WORKS AS IT SHOULD DO, reject the car and get another one, or reject the car, and walk away, cancel my ebay auction on the Fabia, and look for something else that is powered by an engine the manufacturer has some idea about?

I would personally reject the car and demand a new one. I'm fecked if I would pay new price for a repaired car, may as well buy a second hand one.

Good luck anyway!!

I'd have a quick chat with a trading standards officer, to check what timeframe your allowed, then set the dealer a deadline to resolve the issue (in writing) after which, i'd ask for a replacement or refund.

Would be good if anyone on here had access to Which online as i'm sure its covered in the legal section.

Can Skoda Tech consult the fatherland for more information on the issue. There are now lots of Fsi's running around without issues.

Have a search on club gti and golfGTI.co.uk under the Mk5 sections.

On the other hand maybe it's restricted as your previous car was a Fabia that only reved to 5000 and they were wanting to make you feel at home.

you must be so disappointed shifty i really feel for you:( ,i know how you feel as ive had nothing but trouble with my 03 vrs which ive only had for a month lets hope jbs can sort my problems today

Personally, I think you've been plenty patient with them. If I were in your shoes (God Forbid) I would now reject the car.

As to wether you have another, well that's upto you, however it does seem that you really like the car when its working right.

The dealers can't have roadtested the car all that well if the first time your able to use the revs the fault comes back -- a poor show, not helped by the lack of information for them from Skoda

Astra VXR :D

either that or join the 10 month lomg waiting list for a ASBO thatll break down within a week and then have to wait another 2 months for parts (have been reading on forums bout this issue)

I've re read the thread, knowing you the car may not remain standard and all the issues that go with that, I'd also reject it.

Now where did i put that ATP manifold and GTRS turbo.

Astra VXR :D

I'd Rather Walk :thumbdwn:
