There is an interesting article on the BBC website (HERE) describing how Stuttgart and Duesseldorf have been given the green light to ban older, more polluting diesel cars from zones worst affected by pollution.

 

I wonder when (whether) Andy Burnham will have the cojones to do the same in Manchester and likewise Sadiq Khan in the God-awful Capital?

Think this subject was raised on another thread last week, relating to diesel engine issues, and the German government acting in certain cities.

Are there any Conservatives Constituencies / MPs   that Spring to mind?

Or SNP Glasgow / Edinburgh .

New EU directive to be raised before Brexit leaving date ,now that would be fun.

Scotland will have the 'Low Emission zones' quite soon and without a court or the EU having any say in it.

That is unlike the 'Minimum Pricing on Alcohol' that had many hurdles before it could come into being. 

My White Lightning will be going from £3 a bottle to about £11 from May.

Just do a few border runs to Carlisle when you’re in Girvan. 

I imagine there will be plenty bringing stuff North or across the water maybe even from the EU coming across that open border.

 

Maybe even good to run in Low Emission Zones.

So reporters keep repeating 'older diesels'  even after saying  ones 'built before September 2015'.

 

Very old them. Euro 5 emissions, over 2 1/2 years old maybe.

Yup, let's not rush things . . . eight years more pollution.

 

The only good thing to come out of these (future) moves is that it may persuade motor manufacturers to stop producing diesel engined cars and invest in Electric car R&D.

The Government of England, Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland just need to start splashing even more cash and get on with it.

Remembering there will be no more EU money coming to help on the work needed.

Just the money from the Oil & Gas and Energy Generating Companies.

They have been giving Millions, maybe Billions to car manufacturers to develop Green ICE Vehicles and the cheaters should be paying that back anyway.
