Hi everyone, 

 

First time posting. 

 

I'm using obd11 to code high beam assist and follow the guide and it keeps saying fault as soon as I push the stalk to activate. 

 

Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it?

Have you tried resetting the basic settings in the module?

Do you mean resetting the light on the car settings on the screen? Or you mean through obd11? 

 

I've done the factory rest of lights and turned light assist on on the light settings but still throws up a fault

I mean resetting the basic settings in the 09 module. If that isn’t working, I don’t know what to suggest I’m afraid.

Underneath the adaptation and long coding sections in the app there should be a button that says basic settings or similar. Can’t recall off the top of my head. If the reset doesn’t work, set everything back to how it was and clear the fault. Try again, come out of it each time and re enter the security code, do it quite swiftly then reset the basic settings. Have you used OBDEleven to scan the new fault? 

You can also reset the headlight basic settings with an OBDEleven for 10 credits if you can’t find it on the sub menu. Was doing something on mine this morning and noticed it, so thought I’d update

Fingers crossed. Mine took 2 attempts to code, did it the first time and nothing happened, reversed the coding, reset the basic settings, went back and redid the coding, coming out the module each time and going back in with the security code and it worked the second time.

Nope. Reverted all my.changes and then reset. Did it all again and no worky. 

 

Hmm...anyone around Bedfordshire or west Hertfordshire with VCDS?

Strange. You're certainly not the first person to get a fault come up, in fact some people get a fault using VCDS as well. Sorry I can't help further, that's what I did to get mine working.

Thank you for your help, no doubt I've managed to change something so.ewhere else without realisi g that's clashing. Probably need vcds to scan the channels and see the difference. 

 

I've managed to get traffic sign, corner lights, mirror dip but turned it off at present and drl dim on indicating. Just this pesky HBA that's getting the better of me loool

The mirror dip is a pathetic effort! Mine has also been switched off too. I've gotten used to moving the mirror for parallel parking now, made much harder by the lack of convex ends on the mirrors for blind spots etc. Proper pain that is!

This was the problem I had too, and looking at the various posts on here i did the following and it worked a treat

Sorry you're at the limit of what I know about - it was on my list in OBDeleven

 

for the coding i followed there were mods to do in

Controller 09

Controller A5

Controller 4B

 

and the error code was in 4B so I did the bit above after saving all the coding

That is strange. So I added 4b to my controller list but it shows as black and no communication when I enter it to have a look. 

 

What is the name that is connected to your 4b? Like a5 is front sensor driver assistance systems....mine is multifunction module?

Atleast until someone is able to look at it with a vcds

 

I'm gojng to stop playing now as got another headlight fault when I changed something. Appears to be all good now and back to normal...fingers crossed!

Not sure about 4B, but I know the adaptation channels are different between pre FL and FL. It’s worth someone looking with VCDS as they can do an adaptation channel map on that.

55 is the module for Headlight regulation on the pre-facelift Octavia with xenons. This is where you do the basic settings for headlamps. OP what do you have?

Yours should be the same then, 55 not 4b should be what you're looking for.
