DTUK CRD-3

Featured Replies

Hi . New to the forum. Bought a Octavia vrs TDI 184 dsg. Been looking at the DTUK crd-3. I was wondering if I bought a second hand one would it be both compatible with the manual and DSG or would it need updating for the DSG?

Cheers

nope, if you have the 184 TDI, and you buy the 184 tdi CRDT3+ it will just plug and play. DSG has nothing to do with it. You can have the tuning box reprogrammed for @ £100

Andrew at DTUK has said it will need reprogramming to work with the DSG model. Not just plug and play on both manual and DSG. Shame as its a good price for the second hand box.

Haha where is the box and how much? I’m wanting one for my manual

DSG can handle more torque than manual gearboxes hence, the manual version is modified to protect the clutch

I had a CRD3 box for my Octavia, and when I got rid of it I had a Passat CC for a few months with the same engine. Octavia was DSG, Passat manual - absolutely fine on both.

didn't know that! so a manual tuning box is OK on a DSG car, but a DSG coded tuning box could damage a car with a manual gearbox?

It's what DTUK say, kinda think it's a long term wear thing & not a snap it as soon as its used

So what your saying a manual version will definitely work on a dsg car?

Bought a tuning box but not racechip or dtuk. D-tec twin signal. Works lovely. £179.99 looks like dtuk box with the 3 button setting.
