Lovely colour and pictures , think I'm torn now between this blue and business grey , the missus has a hang up on green cars so emerald green is sacked already ,

Thanks, I like the business grey too, but our Golf was grey so we fancied a change!

Looks really good.  I have same car and colour on order.  When did you place your order?

21st Feb, was a cancelled order (that day), came with heated front screen & washer jets, and a smokers pack (cup shaped ash tray that I’ll probably keep coins in!). It happened to be our first choice of colour so we were lucky, as we were being told 16 weeks delivery at the time.

You were very lucky indeed.  Ordered mine on 19th January. Now being quoted bw 15. But that is still not confirmed.  The wait goes on!!!!!

Hi Jacksdad,

Great photos. Not even had a estimate of delivery for my SEL yet. This will be the first car I have had with built in Satnav. I usually use an app called Waze on my phone. Two questions, does the inbuilt Satnav get live traffic updates through a paired phone? (Or only if you put a sim in the glovebox slot). Secondly can I run Waze and have it display on the cars screen? I’m a bit behind the times with car tech.

Enjoy the SEL, very jealous!

Can't speak to your Q on built-in satnav. On our Yeti I'd intended to spec one till the dealer showed me how Skoda's Smartlink worked with Android Auto. Always up to date, gives real time updates, the choice of Google Maps or Waze on the car screen, plus streaming apps like GP Music, Spotify etc.

Love it. And it saved £600.

In answer to your second Q, Karoq comes with Smartlink+ built in. So yes, if your phone supports AA, you can display Waze on the car screen. Needs a cable connection between the USB socket and phone, but on the plus side that means the phone is kept charged. First job when our new car arrives is sussing out space for my phone and how I can use the USB neatly.

This is Waze on our Yeti.

On the Yeti, my old Nexus 6P and new Pixel 2XL won't fit at the front, so I ran a USB A to USB C cable to the rear drawer in the console via a right angle adapter.  Haven't seen any detailed pics of the equivalent Karoq area from new owners, and can't remember from the test drive.

PS - I've assumed you have an android phone. AFAIK, Waze doesn't work with Apple's CarPlay.

Thanks for the info Michael, iPhone I’m afraid.

Worth some research then. I might be wrong, but I thought the only nav support in Apple's CarPlay (Smartlink supports CP, AA, and Mirrorlink) was for Apple Maps.

Good luck.

Here's a pic of the "phone box" on my Karoq which I took the other day so I could order a right-angled USB cable...

Excellent solar, thank you.

Yes. I think the OP mentioned he ran Waze on his iPhone. The question then is whether CarPlay supports a nav app on the car screen other than Apple Maps.

Ah, got you

Yes I see that apple blocks third party maps (nice of them) but apparently you can still get the voice alerts

The maps won’t be displayed on your carplay system, but you’ll get direction alerts while you drive without interrupting any other apps you have running on the system.

That could work. We often run GM or Waze nav "behind" the radio/SD/phone displays, so just get voice prompts
