Quantum tuning Maps/remapper

Featured Replies

Have been looking into remaps for my Octy and saw that remapper have a sale on currently, all maps were £299 and include an STS (similar to sharks)... This doesn't seem a bad price for a 'custom' map and an alientech powergate 3...

The maps are the same that Quantum Tuning (same company owns remapper) supply so it seems to be coming from a fairly reputable dealer.

Any thoughts on whether this is something to jump at or should I just take it to shark and know that it's done once and done right?

FWIW I've got a quantum map on my diesel vrs, it's fine. Not the most aggressive map for sure, but that's fine for me given the mileage and age of the car.

Have heard good and not so good things about quantum. My map was done by a friend of the quantum group and I'm happy with it.

Motorsport engineer who used to build fiat coupe's had his quantum from slough and was happy with the way they tuned it.

I've heard bad things about their tdi remaps though. YMMV.

What bad things have you heard? So far, nothing wrong with one I've got...

just that it was quite smoky.

Which would suggest over fuelling if it wasn't oil burning. I've been watching the fuel eco and it's better than the box. I can't recall what it's like stock, but pointless comparison as I use the extra performance. I also use millers or premium diesel to reduce smoke, I don't appear to have any more regens than with the box, and given the service interval range that was a non issue
