Grinding on acceleration between 1700-2200rpm then it goes

Featured Replies

Just started to notice a metallic grinding noise when I accelerate between 1700-2200 rpm in the sdi diesel 94000 miles. I’m just wondering what it could be as I’m planning on changing TRE and putting in some fresh drop links as weather is getting nicer (and it was an advisory)

cheers guys

Its not ya front brakes sticking on is it?

Not too sure, it’s only on the offside wheel, put new disks and shoes on around 2k mile ago and gave everything a once over wire brush and inspection.

There is no delay in power or anything so don’t think it’s driveline related? Not too sure

Had a similar thing on my last car, a 2001 honda crv. Turned out to be a rusted back plate on the NSF brake. It would only show up on pulling away. Nothing on normal driving just pulling away.
