    FINALLY.

  • You’re mostly correct, I just spoke with Skoda and it isn’t yet in the UK.   They did say that it’s not approved yet, but they have started shipping anyway in anticipation of approval.

  • I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.   Your first sentence reads to me that once the engine is WLTP approved, then that's the end of the process, it's ready for certification.

Latest news from Skoda today. Car is planned for production in week 34 (last full working week in August) but will be held in field at factory until homologation of the new engines is complete.

Anticipated delivery to dealer is end October!

It seems some dealers aren't up to speed with the build week. Was still waiting to be told the week, but had a phonecall yesterday to say the car is with them. 190 5 seat edition, ordered in May.

When we where awaiting our Kodiaq I tended to find that Skoda customer services had a better idea of where the car was than the dealer.

Though it isn’t unusual to find the car arriving unannounced at the dealer.

I had talked to Skoda customer services in the morning and was told “sometime next week” and got a phone call from the dealer on the same afternoon “your cars just arrived”.

Finally!!!!

Having ordered in Week 14 I now have an unconfirmed build week of week 38 and a hopeful delivery to dealer by week 44.

They say that good things come to those who wait... well I’m sick of waiting!

Glad to hear you finally got a date. Poor kodiaqs are suffering from new engines, new EU regs and back orders. Making time drag on and on. I was jammy to get my 190TDI I think in the time that it took. April order to July handover.

What did you order? Slightly concerned about this myself - haven't ordered one, but I would need the car by March ideally.

Well, i am based in Switzerland but the impact is all over Europe as i understand. Its been confirmed that its a MY19 car but no details on when it will be here. The contract states December.

Ordered a 2.0 "Style" (as its called here), with a good few accessories :-)  From what i have heard is that any new orders will be a Summer 2019 delivery.

BUT...maybe the UK have more build slots and a quicker turn over.

Good Luck, these cars seem to be in demand..

I hate to say it, especially given how much I love my Yogi, but if I was looking now for a car then the uncertainly would put me right off a Kodiaq - and possibly any other VAG car too. It's such a shame that they seem to have finally cracked the market (I'm seeing more and more Skodas around every year) and are making really nice cars that are excellent value, but then they go and shoot themselves in the foot (or get shot in the foot by their parent, more like).

Mainland Europe has always suffered significantly longer lead-times when compared to the UK, even when supply was good.

Given the knock-on effects of the WLTP fiasco we're all seeing extended lead-times, the difference being UK customers aren't used to it.

What doesn't help, and it is an area Skoda UK have always, and continue to be, totally and utterly woeful at, is the lack of consistent, concise and regular communication.

I suspect Skoda UK's franchised dealer network are dishing out build dates and delivery dates based on nothing more than their gut feel, affecting quite a few models. They want your order and will do anything to stop you looking elsewhere, including offering up unrealistic, or unsubstantiated delivery dates.

A real shame, and I sympathise with those wanting a Kodiaq but not knowing when they can have one.

I've said it before, but I'd be making serious enquiries with SEAT on their new Tarraco, due for launch this autumn. It might be possible to bag an early car, and get it on your drive before a Kodiaq. It's a risk but I understand they're very similar.

Just spoke with a dealer regarding a new Kodiaq, and he told me it's a lead time in the UK of 12-14 weeks until delivery.

Any idea how honest car dealers are? :D

A dealer I chatted with earlier also told me that Skoda are releasing 2000 new Kodiaqs into uk stock in mid-late September, but dealers don't know what engines or specs.

^^^ Was that a Car Dealer / Sales Executive or a Drug Dealer?

It will be interesting to see if those are Kodiaq Built before the 1st June 2018 so under Degroation Rules can be first registered as 68 plates,

or these are MY19 Kodiaq that are WLTP approved.

Tt'll be similar in size and the controls / infotainment units will all be the same (but the infotainment just has a different skin). But based on other models, the main difference will be that the SEAT has a firmer ride - whether or not you want this or not will be personal choice.

Do we know that it hasn't been affected by the WLTP stuff though? Or do we think VAG might have prioritised getting new stuff tested before going through the 'back catalogue', so to speak?

I've now chatted to 2 dealers saying different things today. As well as the chap who said 12-14 weeks, another guy has told me 26 weeks! I told the original guy and he said:

" All dealerships have access to the system called the HUB and every week, it is updated with delivery times and specification changes etc.

The latest from that shows a delivery of 12 to 14 weeks"

The problem is 'HUB' is only as good as the information pumped into it.

If it is Skoda UK in-charge of updating it then I wouldn't be putting too much faith in it's accuracy, I think they're as clueless as we are :D

Interesting thread. I ordered my Scout 2.0 TSI about 2 weeks ago and was told 25 weeks lead time.

I can't imagine waiting more than 3 months for a new car, let alone 6!

Well, for me the timing is less of an issue, as my company car that the Kodiaq is replacing (Outlander PHEV) goes back beginning of Jan '19. However, I agree, it's a ridiculous time to wait. I suppose I should count myself lucky that it wasn't a hybrid, as VW have closed the order books completely for the Passat GTE, which I was considering as a replacement company car.

So just to share in the misery, I ordered my Sportline 2.0l tdi DSG on July 18th. Was told it will be delivered in October...all good! I'm an impatient git tho so I contacted my dealer TWICE to get a confirmed build date. Build date is 17th of September and October delivery I was told. Superb! Still being a bit impatient I thought I'd check with skoda uk live chat. Build date scheduled for 7TH OCTOBER BUT NOT CONFIRMED! At the rate it's going and by the sounds of others I'll be lucky to have it by Christmas time

Far too many variables making the build time for the Kodiaq way longer now. I think I was rather lucky in the grand scheme of things with my 190TDI build. I'd be clawing the walls by now if I had gone with my original choice of a 2.0TSI.

I’ve ordered a 2.0 TSI Sportline on 23rd July. I was told after a few weeks that my build week was week 47 but a couple of weeks ago got a call to say it had been brought forward to build week 39. Double checked with Skoda online chat last week and they confirmed it’s still scheduled for week 39. Crossing fingers!

I ordered my 190tdi DSG sportline on the 17 of July. Just spoke with Skoda online chat and they state a confirmed build date of 17th of September, they say build time will be approx 2 weeks with delivery 6-7 weeks after that. So looking like middle of November.

6 to 7 weeks!!! Is that not a bit excessive
