Superb l&k seat colour

Featured Replies

What seat/dash colour has anyone with an l&k gone for?

I am particularly interested in the dark brown vs black as i’ve never seen the brown.

Any thoughts on what will work well with petrol blue paint and regular wearing of jeans .

Hi @cheezemonkhai,

I got myself dark brown L&K interiot + beige ceiling panels. Beige is a must with dark brown IMHO.

Car color itself is Metal Grey and I think they work well together with brown interior. I also considered Petrol Blue and that would have also come with dark brown interior.

When I compared dark brown and black interiors, then dark brown seemed more spacious and more "special". Black is everywhere but dark brown is something you don't see every day:)

And I have had no problem with jeans coloring my seats. I didnt even consideder light beige seats because all cars in distributors showroom with light seats had jeans marks.

I have a petrol blue L&K with black leather/dash and cream headlining. I like the combination, the cream headlining isn’t oppressive and the black leather is good for avoiding marks.

The brown leather which I’ve seen in Autotrader adverts really doesn’t do it for me. Okay, perhaps with a light paint colour, but I wouldn’t have it with petrol blue body.

I have black leather with Moon White. I always coveted beige leather (however impractical it is) but was persuaded that it just would not look right with white. The brown leather ,in my opinion, clashes with the black plastics in the interior.

I have the same in my SII. Owned since new over six years ago. Mine was one of the first in the UK. I wanted a swatch as there was no brown interiors to look at. So they got a swatch from Sweden! Have been very pleased with it. I personally think it is much better in the "flesh" than in any picture.

Dark Brown L&K with black exterior.  I don't know if it's the same with other Superb seats (first Superb!) but if the car has been sat in the sun, the seats certainly hold the heat - never had that with black leather in my old Insignia.

Brown leather is more unique - everyone who's anyone has had black or beige, but brown is a lot rarer a sight...well, that's my thoughts anyway!

Try and see if someone near you has a brown interior and see what you think.

I think that’s an indication that the brown only looks “right” with a few body colour combinations, whereas black will generally go with any colour.

But wasn’t brown the only option for leather in the L&K for quite a while? So there must be a fair number with brown interiors?

Good point.  I can't remember whether brown was the only option or not on release, but it's still a nice colour.

Some manufacturers only let you have certain coloured seats with certain colour exteriors - I guess they're alive to the fact of clashing colours and don't really want that to tarnish their brands.

I had an L&K with the brown interior and the Rosso Brunello exterior (one of the last S3 with that colour I think).

What I would say is that;

1.0 you really need to see it in the flesh, all the photos I have seen do not do the colour justice. It is a red spectrum brown in my eyes.

2.0 With an L&K with the heated screen the black elements of the interior trim do not clash with the brown at all.

3.0 Brown wore well over the 2 years I had the car and I thought always looked more plush than the black.

I have seen brown with the darker grey exterior and that works well, I would agree with others that Blue exterior and Brown would be a daring choice. Beige is the best colour for a blue exterior without doubt. My current S3 is beige interior and is wearing as well as the brown; no jeans marks and any creases beginning to age are nowhere near as obvious as with black or brown.

The only downside of beige is that the harder plastic sections do look a bit more down market but that can always be sorted with a bit of bespoke trimming if you are keeping it longer term.

Yes, I believe you are right about brown being the only color option for MK2 for L&K. I think it was even so at the very beginning of MK3 L&K but as the demand for L&K was so high, the subcontractors were not able to produce enough brown interior parts. Therefore Skode decided to add more color interiors as an option for L&K.

Didn't think this out myself:D The info came from local Skoda dealer sale manager.

Actually there are quite few brown interior MK2 Superbs. MK2 L&K was much more expencive compared to MK3 L&K and therefore not many were sold.

Does anyone have any photos of their L&K interiors? I'm between a Karoq Edition and a Superb L&K at the moment - Petrol Blue being my preferred colour but not sure if I'd go black or beige leather wise.

I like brown leather, just not so keen on brown dashboards!

That's very smart, even if the dealer used a 15 year old Nokia to take the photos. "Shall we polish the fingerprints off the shiny trim? Why bother - no-one will notice at this resolution"

Can we bring charges against the person responsible for this? :D

Yeah - they did a better job prior to collection ;)

Petrol Blue with cream leather interior. Good for keeping cabin well lit in summer.20170928_154842.thumb.jpg.647dd57498fb845faf58511a0dd40f42.jpg

Very nice. Very pretty, indeed.

(But I'm imagining the discussions I would be having with my gardener wife about the state of her jeans.)

Dark exterior and lighter interior always works best.  Can't lava blue with beige interior - not that I'm biased or anything :)   As Muff says above, great for keeping the interior that bit cooler.  Add the ventilated seats and its actually pleasant to be in even on a hot summers day

Here's a picture of my Petrol Blue/Beige interior car after nearly three years and 36K of not really cleaning it!

Also I wear blue jeans all the time, I have cleaned off the blue about three times.

Picture is high resolution so you can zoom in for a good look at the wear!

Thanks and that’s not badly all. Looks rather nice actually.  Is there a slight blue hue to the base of the drivers seat or am I just imagining it. I tend to get dark jeans, which do bleed a lot at first, so super paranoid.

regarding the low rent plastic, which pieces are you thinking of?

I have not cleaned the blue off for a couple of months and I wear nothing but dark blue Levis all the time so not too bad.

That's how mine looks.

Well it did look like that before my 3 kids got into it  :D

I love the beige leather but went for Black in the end, with Pearlescent Black paintwork.

Quick question to those with beige.

do you have black carpet on the floor or beige?

Beige Superb comes with black carpets. The most sensible decision Skoda management ever made!

BROWN IS NEW BLACK! Ok, got it out of my system. Carry on.
