Skoda connect, driving me crazy

Featured Replies

Why does my 2018 L&K with Columbus (new one with no knobs) every time I get in the car but with inconsistent time before appearing ask me to confirm who the registered user is?

I am the only user in the system

Help!

I believe the confirmation can be turned off in one of the settings screens.

I think it can. I don't ever get this notification.

I haven't a clue how I switched it off though!

Mine does this as well. The only thing I’ve seen that you can set in the menus is whether to let it use your data connection for its apps.

So, before I got out of the car today I’ve resorted to manually assigning my key to my profile (didn’t bother about this before). So I’ll see if that stops it pestering me when I have a drive tomorrow.

Update: didn’t make any difference, it still prompts me to “OK” as the registered main user

Mine does that if my phone isn't connected to the car via USB and Bluetooth is switched off on my phone.

Skoda Connect has been a bit iffy lately, it's disconnected from my phone several times and was off for several hours this morning.

This is driving me mad also. Is this happening to everyone?

We have manually set the keys so it knows who is driving but it still asks who is the registered user.

Yes I have also set to automatically accept but nearly every journey up it pops.

I have even left it to see if would time out  ....................  No it doesn't.

Oil service this Wednesday so I will ask.

This issue has popped up quite a bit over the last few months, while each issue is the annoying message that pops up every journey, there does not seem to be a universal fix identified. I had this message and turned the mobile data from confirm to allow (see extract from manual), I also have manually assigned the keys (did this for different reasons and not sure if it matters) but I was able to get rid of the message. It only popped up once since then and that was after a software update at the dealers, it does not pop up after a different driver (different key) is used, it might for them but not for me.

Try the below and if it does not work could you list the Skoda apps you have on your phone and if its iPhone or Android.

Me too, same thing, they don't know why.

It only does it when I'm connected (iPhone) on USB, usually for CarPlay. If I don't connect via USB so it uses Bluetooth (so just phone, no CarPlay), I don't get the prompt.

But then I don't know if whatever Connect (maybe) does when the phone is connected via USB can still happen when on Bluetooth...

I asked in our local dealer and all they could say is that you can just press ok. They will not appreciate that it happens every trip and drives you mad.

I suspect that it has previously been registered, maybe by the dealer or previous user/owner. So the vin is associated with two or more users. Perhaps a factory reset may help.

I have sent an email to Skoda connect themselves and have not received the courtesy of a reply yet.
