First time Skoda owner - 2013 Fabia estate 1.2 tdi greenline

Featured Replies

I currently have a Nissan Juke which is now at over 100k and starting to have some hiccups, want something a bit bigger in whatever I get next.

I’m looking at buying a 2013 Fabia estate - this one in fact.

Itll be my first Skoda, what do you think of it in terms of the engine, model, any questions I should be asking the dealer, anything that I should budget for replacing in the future and when?

thanks in advance for your help :)

Welcome.

The big question is ' Has the car had the VW Emissions Fix,  ie new Engine Management to remove the Defeat Device, and so the 24 Trust Building Measure Guarantee type thing is in place.

For some having had that done has caused no issues, for others some or many.   Best check out the issues.

The Fabia Mk2 section will be a good place to start your research.

Wow thanks... this might all be a little bit over my head!  I was originally looking at a 2012 petrol and was then put off by what I found on here about the timing chain on the pre 2012.

I had to replace the DPF on my Juke this time last year, I was doing short journeys for a period of about 6 months while I was off work and I think that killed it. Back to work now and commuting 45-60 mins each way four days a week so hopefully that’s better!

Buyer beware with 1.2, 1.6 & 2.0 TDI Euro 5's.

If a Main Dealer had it traded into them or an owner agreed to the fix or in some cases was not even asked the car can have had the Fix.

I would not touch one with someone else's barge pole.

You might find someone selling an un-spoiled one though.

Called the dealer and apparently it’s not been fiddled with... I really do need a car now, so I might give it a go
