I have recently did the TSR coding through VCDS. When I start the drive it says no road signs available. Then it picks the first one up but I also get an error message. Which says: Dynamic road sign display currently restricted.

but it does work. It gives me all the speed sign. No overtaking too. It displays them on the Amundsen and the Maxidot too. But this message comes on 500 metres after I pull away. It goes away once I turn the ignition off. It can’t be a critical error as it goes away with the ignition and when I restart the engine is not there. VCDS couldn’t find it as an error code either. I have the latest map on my satnav.

I set it to Detection, not fusion.

You probably want to start by posting a full autoscan and adaption map for A5.

That is a bit difficult as I borrowed the Ross-Tech cable and the I haven't got it to hand at the moment. Do you guys think if I change it to Road Sign Fusion would that make it work?

Okay, I manage to sort it, I did the road fusion thing and now it works without the error message. When the camera was working on it's own it was more accurate, but now I haven't got error messages.

It pulls the data from the Satnav. But as soon as the camera detects a sign it changes it to that. So it is okay. But not 100%.

 

I get the same error message...where can I find the option to set it to fusion? 

Hi mate. It is in A5 or 17. I can’t remember exactly. But instead of coding you should click on adaptations and scroll the list down. It says traffic sign fusion and change the value to fusion from detection.

One thing for sure. It does work like this. Sometimes it can give nonsense speed limits. But I believe the data is pulled from the NAV. Once it sees a sign the camera overwrites that straight away. 

Thanks for that. I had a look today, and the Road Sign Detection Fusion mode was already set to 'fusion'. Still get the error message. I've tried clearing all DCT's using OBDeleven, and I've rebooted the nav unit, but still get the message. 

 

It will pick up and display the road signs from the camera, but interestingly I have noticed that before I did this the sat-nav displayed road signs by itself (not on the maxi dot, just on the map) based on it's nav data. Now, there is no speed signs displayed on the map at all unless one is picked up by the camera. I don't know why that would be? I can't see anything I've done that would be to directly remove that feature from the nav unit?

 

I've also fiddled with some of the traffic sign recognition settings in Module 5F, changing the msg bus from 'databus extended' (default) to 'databus comfort' and then to 'databus infotainment'. Nothing made a difference, still got the error message. 

 

Even changed the fusion option to 'road sign detection' and then 'electronic horizon'. Horizon one did nothing but still produce the error, the detection on picked up signs using the camera but still produced the error.

 

I don't know what else to try to be honest. The error message is super annoying, and it's more annoying that the sat nav had road signs prior to this but somehow now doesn't. 

Is the car pre facelift? It might be that it came with Amundsen Nav and MIB I and after reading a lot threads here it seems that MIB I will always display the error message. My one is a 67 plate facelift.

Yeah it is pre facelift with MIB1 Amundsen Nav. Damn, that's so frustrating.
