  • stu, halfords are doing a fitted kit for a hundred notes. from what i've read, thay cater for most makes of phones and have reviewed quite well.

  • You need Dashmount from these people, a no holes needed, metal fixing bracket. http://www.handsfree-carkits.co.uk/ (Moderator's note: Site added to Links section for future reference. DGW)

Probably the same bright spark who thought showing monkeys dressed in Halford's uniforms running around a store was a good way to advertise...

Howard, I think it is the same person who writes product descriptions for the Innovations catalogue.

Thanks to Fabia for his input. Its a sad man who finds himself surfing the net for 12v lighter extensions. I never realised so much variety of choice was possible. This solution means i've got another annoying bit of cable but the advantage of three fags at once of a morning.

Been fighting the urge to get a JabraBT200 as surely the dickhead factor must fall as more people have to wear these headset things. My T68i does voice but my experiments with the cheapo thing in your ear found road noise a problem -are Startrek style headsets any better?

IIRC the Ericsson bluetooth headsets actually use the vibration of the jaw bone to generate the noise, so you get less ambient interference.

Our resident owner of a 120 decibel car uses such a headset, and is surprisingly audible considering...unless he revs it... :D

you can feed the cable for the lighter cable extension under the trim panels and keep it looking very neat

My motorola 'chainsaw' headset as SWMBO calls it is very good. Everyone I speak to using it has said it is just as clear as speaking on the phone normally! :)

Makes an annoying beeping noise when the phone looses signal though, which with 3G, seems to almost every couple of miles!

The '91 Kit can be put through the Symphony HU to great effect.

Use the Pin outs Here

Takes about 2 hours to do the whole thing, works really well as the HU controls volume, CD pause etc.

All you need are the connectors from Skoda which cost around

Thanks that works great

Well i installed my Parrot CK3000 last week, took about 5 times longer than expected as theres nowhere to put the box in the fabia!. in the end i followed the advice found on here and wrapped it in bubblewrap and its now happily wedged on the left hand side of the centre console between glovebox and head unit. i routed the mic to the top of the windscreen on the drivers side (this was after breaking some of the clips trying to get the trim off ) figured i could just tuck the wire into the rubber seals.

Now ive had it working for a week, i have to say its rather good. after messing with the settings and programming some names in (i have a SE Z600 so get extra functionality over Nokia and other blutooth handsets) the voice recognition is very good - this is done in the unit rather than in the phone. it takes something drastic, like travelling at motorway speeds with the window down for it to not recognise.

The only gripe i have is the volume control isnt really sensitive enough, its controlled from the handset, which has 5 "settings" which doesnt make much difference, and you cant use the parrot menu to adjust settings while on a call.. bit of a pain really because i like listening to loud music sometimes.

i bought and fitted the nokia bluetooth kit to my car ages ago, works a treat. all you see is the mic(about an by half an inch) and the button which is about an inch wide. you press the button in the middle of the mic to answer the call, again to hang up, press and hold for voice commands/names and turn the outside of it to adjust volume. marvelous. since getting it i have also changed phones. no problem, just re-pair with new phone and all is dandy.

 to nokia and boooooooo to all others, my opinion anywho

Just fitted (week ago) the parrot' date=' and it rox. It's BT, and works excelent, however some of it's functionality is not available if you use nokia phones (SE get extra features).

But it work's, it plug into the VAG head unit's and it's 100 quid.

A friend of mine has a Parrot CK3000 fitted to his smart and it's brilliant :) You can voice dial totally handsfree by voice command. I've ordered one from BlueUnplugged for around
