Hello, I have a problem, with the steering, it feels somethimes very stiff and the lights sometimes looses power and starts to variate its lightness. I replaced the steering pump and the battery. However, it still happens. What could it be?

For example, I'm taking a turn and suddenly, the power steering disappears.

Did you fit a new battery? (No 1 suspect)

 

Check wiring around the battery for corrosion and the fusebox in the engine with the hefty fuses for evidence of overheating. Check the connectors on the battery terminals are correctly tightened.

 

Finally it could be alternator or associated wiring.

Yes, I changed the battery, and the battery connections. I'll check the fuses.

Have a look to see if the battery light comes on when you turn on the ignition (engine not started). If it doesn't it indicates broken alternator load sensing wires - very common problem.

I'd suggest checking the connections between the the PAS electric pump and the battery. It sounds a bit like a high resistance problem.
