im more in the former category,  my husbands nicknamed him Dr Oc either way :D

Deffo Octahvia :)

The last one, Oct A Vier but then I'm northern and we say Bath with a short "A", unlike the southerners who say "Baarth".

I’m northern and I say bath, not baaath but it’s still an Octahvia in my mind lol :D

I’ve always said Oc-tay-via but I think the long aahhh is probably actually the correct pronunciation. But then I don’t say Shkoda either, like most English speakers, so I guess I can live with saying Octavia wrongly.

Oct-ay-via over here. And a mate with a vrs is the same.

Here in France:

Octahhveeya

Or what the locals call it: Oc-taa-vi-a. And Sch-ko-da. Fast forward to 0:45 to hear it:

 Also, it's a nice colour

Who calls it Octovier?

Oc-tah-via

S-ko-da

Simples ;)

Or in my household:   the big car / the dirty diesel / the long range car / the brown one

(my Octahvia is brown in colour)

Skoe Octeeeivia in Denmark :D

I used to say Oct-ay-via, dealer said Oct-ah-via, if I'm thinking about what I'm saying I'd probably say the latter now.

Southerner with northern family, so always had slightly mixed pronunciations on things.

It was harder with older cars. I remember pronouncing Ford Escort as "Start you piece of crap".

Or once owned a new 1985 Vauxhall Ashtray. Well hope someone torched it they would have done someone a favour. Unlockable locking fuel cap to name but one of its many foibles.

In the voice of Sean Connery

"  SHHHHHHKODA "

I pronounce it "Octavia", there are no R's in it, no H's in it and there is only one A. But, HRH Queen Elizabeth might think differently though :D

And its a Com-bay in the local lingo....

Way back in 1965 when I had not long left school and got a job as an apprentice motor mechanic I worked for a dealer who sold the original Octavia and MB1000.  Back then it was pronounced Oc-Tay-Via.  Since I now own one I still and always will pronounce it that way.

I will bow down to the language of origin, I should know better the Š is pronounced as SCH so it is indeed Schkoda. Must get used to saying Oc taa via  :D

On a side note I must say that I am a big fan of english. Not the garbage american accent but finer british english (is posh the right word?) and Scottish. I would pay to hear people talk Scottish.

Naw, ye widnae Jimmy. Gies a pint o' heavy the noo.

I'm with Ock-tay-viah
