Heavy wheels dusting

Featured Replies

Anyone having very heavy dusting? Factory pads installed.

Also cleaning is not easy even with dedicated wheel cleaners.

Mine get quite heavily dusted too. It's easy to remove with a decent pressure washer.

A decent wheel cleaner will also remove it, just let it soak in for the time stated in the instructions and then hose off with the jet nozzle on your hosepipe - if you have one.

I find that spraying the wheels with water before applying the cleaner gets some of the surface dust off thereby leaving the cleaner with less work to do.

If you don't have a hosepipe and/or a pressure washer, buy yourself an alloy wheel cleaning brush, spray your wheels with the cleaner, leave until it's softened the dust, then use the brush to agitate it before swilling off with water.

I have one similar to this.

Get the Meguiars Ultimate Wheel Cleaner. Eats up the iron from the brake pads, way better than your normal wheel cleaners. 6076A08C-AA3E-46D1-A2D8-AAC89FFB0F3A.thumb.jpeg.3f3b8aaf24df12f01a46817bfbdef689.jpeg

Modern brake pads.

Hot water and a decent sponge, avoid the chemicals.

A good wash and  wax every one or two weeks, depending on the miles works for me , 30 / 40 mins done .

I will give it a try as Astonish Wheel cleaner is not doing the job as needed.
