Torque Settings

Hi all,

 

Does anybody know the recommended torque Settings for the two M12 bolts for the front brake carrier. I've looked on the workshop-manuls.com website and they specify 190NM which I think is a bit excessive. I've look at a few posts on this forum and some people are saying Skoda recommend 125NM?

Any help much appreciated, thanks 🙏

I have just looked at the Haynes repair manual for a 6R Polo, and the figure given is indeed 190nm, which seems “quite a bit”!

 

Edit;- also checked what the torque setting on an Audi B8 S4 for the same location and its 196nm! (again source is Haynes)

Front caliper carrier bolts are 125nm and caliper to carrier bolts are 30nm

Strange my Elsawin says for the FN3

10 -124 Nm

qclean when using again

Mine is a FN3 type but still 190NM on a M12  thread is over kill really

That's strange my one says exactly the same thing apart from number 10. Which says 190NM

What version of Elsawin ?  Strange thing, if you look at the MK2 Octy with FN3 then it does show 190Nm but all years for the Fabia with FN3 it's 124Nm

I'm probably going on erWin later this evening, I'll pick up the current 'brakes' workshop manual for mk2 Fabia while I'm on there, and see what it says.

i've checked various sources  including erwin and C54 it is 125nm and FN3 124nm

Knowing how he threads pull on those bearing carriers I wouldn’t risk 190 Nm lol
