Superb MY2020 options and prices

Featured Replies

Just got these from local dealer -- as expected prices have gone up 😞

One bit of good news, Velvet Red metallic is now an option as an "exclusive colour" -- in other words, even more expensive...

I was just told July 6th.

Ok, that’s positive. I’ll make contact again and nudge. Thanks

Correction -- just got back from dealer, first order date is next Tuesday (July 2nd)

👍🏻

Awesome stuff. Wonder where’s the Area View option. And what kind of discounts are you getting for non pcp deals?

Is it me but are we still missing some simple piece of equipment ?

How about some USB sockets in the rear somewhere ?

Why are heated rear seats now am option on the L&K?

Looks like we are also stuck with piano black trim as the pinnacle of interior choices ?? (scratch heaven) what about a bit of wood or at least faux wood like in some of the press photos for the Scout ?

Retractable parcel shelf £45 ? , Why not standard ??

And to release the backseats rests from the boot which is pretty much common place now is £75 and is not standard anywhere in the range ?

Why is the rough road package only available on lower end model? Has this always been the case? Obviously on the higher spec models you can't spec smaller alloys at all ...

Nice to see the vital cockpit isn't silly money though....

How many on this thread have been holding out for the MY20 update before deciding on their next car?

As a very satisfied Superb owner I have grown frustrated with the lack of news and a firm order date, I have also been told its Tuesday so lets see what the prices are.

I have looked at many alternatives but none come close to beating the Superb Estates:

A4 - too small

A6 - too big

V90 - too big

V60 - not bad but does it really look as good as the Superb, personally I don't think so

C Class - small and design doesn't do it for me

E Class - nicer but more expensive

Karoq - lack the quality and finish of the Superb (comparing SEL spec between the two models)

Octavia - decent end of line deals around but those double lights don't do it for me and its a old model now and has a manual handbrake

What else have others rejected?

V90 v a Superb? No competition, the V90 every time. Not only are they near identical in size to a Superb Volvo cars are a league apart in quality. I like my Superb but buy all my company cars and sell on to family. I drove my old S60 just last week and it's like a new car and everything feels so solid even at 123k miles. I can't say the same for my Superb and I doubt this one will be bought from the lease company. With most models they improve over time as the manufacturer intoduces changes, from the loan Superbs I've had they've got worse.

Volvo really stepped up the game last few years. They're amazing build quality and the engines are also far more reliable as they used to. But to me it feels really expensive, I'd pick it over Superb if I'd buy another car, but Superb I was able to afford brand new, Volvo I'd have to take used for sure. However, if we're being honest, Volvo V90 is now in league with A6 which Superb definitely is NOT.

That list is also my summary... Tho for me most issues are with prices/warranties. BMW 5 model year 2017+ is also on my list of top **** cars. But reliability is just such a downside at these cars.. First the cost, then worrying how long stuff will go... meh

The V90 is bigger than the Superb and enough so to put me off that, I suspect others too. Its a huge car, nearly as big as the A6 which is similarly barge like.

The Superb is in the sweet spot with loads more space than the A4, 3 Series and C Class.

The V60 seems to be closest and only real competition in terms of overall package.

That said the V60 like for like spec is at least £5k more RRP.

Anyone considered the Peugeot 508SW, went for a test drive last week and was impressed.

Prices were attached to my first post. Dealer told me the PCP £3000 finance offer (pay off loan after 1 day) still stands.

Yes but that's RRP, will be keen to see what Carwow states and also what PCH looks like.

Dealers will be offering the usual discounts, depends on how much dealer is allowed to give by Skoda UK (8%, 10%, 12%...) which differs between dealers. Mine said they'd give the same discount as CARWOW would quote for them plus some extra because they don't have to pay CARWOW commission. I used PCH last time (better deal than PCP) but will do the PCP/purchase trick this time to get the £3000 extra discount -- even dealer suggested this (take PCP deal with freebies and pay off after 1 day) since you get £3000 extra saving over a cash deal. Sounds crazy but many people are doing this until VWFS close the loophole...

V90 is bigger than Superb outside but smaller inside for both luggage and passengers (V60 is *much* smaller). Same applies to A6, E-class and 5-series. All are *way* more expensive even allowing for depreciation. Also I like the way that other drivers treat you in a Superb, the automatic assumption in A6/E-class/5-series is that you're a **** and so why should they let you out at junctions -- it's like negative badge envy, I'd actually rather *not* drive one of the "executive" makes... (yes I've had all the above in the past)

Considering waiting for the new Octavia to see how much it will differ from the Superb in spec and price. Slightly less boot space but if it's thousands difference in price then might be worth it.

The 508 First Edition is/was definitely on my radar, but I have to hold out for the hybrid model. Plus, I will be holding onto this 2.8-year-old Sportline until it lets me down. It shows no signs of doing so.

I have yet to see a new 508 on the road, though I spotted the tail lights of one in Paris last week. I declined a test drive in Morden when the dealer said I could only drive it around the neighbourhood with a chaperone. The Škoda dealership let me take their demo (now my car) down to the M25 and back by myself.

My Sportline is an excellent car, but there is no emotional involvement. I'm going to have to look at an AR Veloce when they come out with a hybrid. I can't go fully electric, because there is no suitable infrastructure around my neighbourhood. The charging points at the local Sainsburys are usually busy.

Mind, Škoda may still make me an offer I can't refuse. That's why I bought this one...

I had the same problem but went for a drive anyway

I liked the dash set up with the dials above the small steering wheel, due to my stature (fat and short) I have not been able to see the top half of a dashboard since Citroen CX days (the dash and str. wheel move together)!

I like the wheel set low down so it was perfect for me.

A bit worried about the 200ltr less space in the back but apparently the hybrid will lose no capacity unlike the Superb which will lose the false floor which accounts for at least 80ltr.

I don't exactly understand what Mr @Flatjack is referring to, but Superb is smaller generally because of the the space dedicated for the Engine (no v6, v8 offers) and the way car interior space is designed. But the difference between Superb and A6 for example is 7 cm.. So all these comparisons are bit, funny...

Lengths for mentioned cars:

- BMW 5 touring 4,936–4,943 mm  (probably depending on Engine size or Touring/Normal)
- Audi A6 (2019+) 4,939 mm
- Volvo V90 2018+ 4,939 mm (funny, exactly as A6 :O)
- Mercedes Benz E-class 2018+ 4,923 mm

- Audi A6 (2012+) 4,916 mm

- Škoda Superb MK3 4,861 mm

- Volvo V60 2019+ 4,761 mm
- Audi A4 2018+ 4,726 mm

Might be that the higher end models have dcc as standard which might be incompatible with rough road package

From what I've seen, for anyone considering PCH the Volvo V90 looks far better value than the Superb. All models, right up to Inscription Plus seem to come in at around the same or lower monthly charge than higher spec Superbs. The same can't be said for things like the XC60 for some reason. I'll never understand PCH pricing....
