Retro fit of cruise control

Featured Replies

When retro fitting cruise control to an Octavia Mk1 (2002), is any additional wiring required? The car is 2.0 Petrol automatic. I previously had a 1.8T manual, and seem to recall that I had to connect an extra cable to the ECU. Also, I think I had to enable the facility using a laptop on the obd port. Any advice would be very gratefully received :-)

Thanks in advance - John.

I think there is an extra harness required yes, but all the parts are available.

Yes there is a harness to go from the switch to the engine ECU.

The Skoda kit is pretty hard to come by, the last one I ordered took a while to land in the UK from CZ.

Thanks to KenONeill and Tech1e  for their quick replies.  I wonder if someone could elaborate on where a harness could be obtained, or a schematic of how to make one. I have a fully equipped workshop with tools to work down to SMD level.

Thank you again - John.

Ahh - looks like I may have caught a cold here. Anyone know where I can purchase the harness please? I have contacted the folks where I bought the stalk, but they can't supply the harness :-(

Tech1e - could you point me to the vendor you last got a harness please?

TIA - John.

I bought the kit from my local Skoda dealer. Cheaper than the one linked above too.
