That is true, although there is already talk of Farage working with Johnson at the request of the Leave campaign to sort out their differences

Discussed today on Politics live, this morning. Opinion was that if Farage fielded candidates in Tory leave seats, then he might split the Tory vote and let labour in. Exit Brexit stage LEFT.

Bit of humour when the Demoprats suggested ( complete with a party leaflet) that Swinson might be next PM.

They know that after all this and what is yet to come in the next 4-5yrs politicians will be as popular as lepers  in a brothel. Might as well take the golden goodbye and pass the blame onto the next generation of psychopathic narcissistic graspers.

Almost 70 MPs not standing now.

Heard 2/3 are pro leave. Haven't seen the latest list, but it does not sound like Boris will get a parliament he wants.

So what's the point?

At some points recently the Tories were polling well. So depending where you looked having an election probably looked like a sounds move for Boris, which is why he's been pushing for it. The polling has been poor for Labour which is why Corbyn has been dodging it. A GE is probably the bell tolling for Jezza. Labour won't do well enough to get in on their own. The price for coallition will probably be his head.

The SNP are champing at the bit because they are a shoe-in for lots more seats in Scotland. Boris has blown it up here and the Tories one asset in Ruth Davidson has moved on so you can epxect to see pretty much every seat tunr yellow in Scotland.

I dunno  what the libs will get. I think they'll get more seats but not many more and they might well gain at Labour's expense not the Tories

You might need to get your hearing checked out. My list only has 58 MP's stating they are not standing at the GE but only 6 (10%) are Leavers compared to 52 (90%) Remainers.

MP's not standing from The Guardian, voting record on EU from They Work For You and Google

Even if the other 12 MP's to make it 70 in total were all leavers it would still only be 25% Leavers and 75% Remain

There are actually 52 REMAIN MP's not standing and 6 LEAVE MP's confirmed as not standing which is public knowledge so far not just hearsay.:biggrin:Clearly those remain MP's would not have been selected either by their existing Party or the public would have got rid of them.:worried:

Surely 16 million people will vote Lib Dem as they will Revoke Article 50 and appeal to those who voted Remain in 2016.:)

No, this is a general election.

Factors other than Brexit, which will be over by Jan Boris has proclaimed, will take over.

Austerity is still a thorn in the Tories side

When you fail to get a grip of your party it comes back to bite.

Issuing a stark warning, Rabbi Romain urged congregants to “put aside all other considerations and vote for whichever party is most likely to defeat Labour.”

While defending Labour’s “long record of fighting discrimination and prejudice” the letter claims its leader Jeremy Corbyn has “at best, let antisemitism arise within its ranks, or at worst, has encouraged it.”

The letter states: “If you, too, think that a Corbyn-led government would pose a danger to Jewish life as we know it…whether it be utterances that cause Jews to feel victimised, less secure and no longer at ease…or maybe even legislation that restricts Jewish life or relations with Israel in some way, then you may wish to vote to ensure Labour does not gain your local seat.”

Being a landlord and undertaking 6 long haul flights this year Mr.Corbyn opening speech in Battersea didn't exactly appeal to me with his save the planet crackdown on ordinary people who have worked hard to make something of themselves. Must be appealing to the core Labour voter who has 6 children, doesn't work because the benefits keep them in fags and booze.

'6 children, doesn't work because benefits keep them in fags and booze'.

That could be a household that have enough income then to put them in the higher tax bracket in the UK.

Actually sounds just like Jacob Rees-Mogg MP, but he does a bit in the Gig economy as well and is probably in the top 1%.

Corbyn will start to house the homeless as soon as he gets into power. I wonder if he will look into the causes of why they are homeless?

Jo Swinson isn’t quite the open book she claims to be.

Now we have had a referendum on EU membership and voted to Leave she no longer supports her previous opinion.

Liberal Democrats therefore remain committed to an in/out referendum the next time a British government signs up for fundamental change in the relationship between the UK and the EU.

This maybe down to the that her husband, Duncan Hames, failed Lib Dem candidate who now runs Transparency International who received €millions from the EU. Funny how money can change your opinion.

After the uproar of Cambridge Analyticals tactics in the referendum it appears that the Lib Dem’s after protesting about their use now think voter identification software is now a good idea.

Jo Swinson MP will be watching the Election spending a bit closer this time, as will everyone else around the country be watching the spending of candidates in this GE.

I guess normal business rules don’t apply and she didn’t get a refund for the “missing” delivery and since it’s only the tax payers money why should she care about the £4,040. I guess we can assume she wouldn’t be fiscally responsible as a PM either.

If this is the excuse she is using it makes you wonder just how useless the police were investigating the case.

The Brexit Party seems to have plenty of money to lose in deposits as they will put candidate in every seat in Scotland and England and Wales.

No idea why not Northern Ireland as well.

Mr Putin can afford it.

Transparancy International's biggest single contributor is the UK...and as their name suggests it is all easy to see on their website.

Being selective with 'facts' is not in anyones interest in seeing the bigger picture...

More Tory than the Tories sums her and the party up quite well.

Ready to do a deal that will get them near the power and a Government car and driver and a peerage or a nice job after they leave Parliament to spend more time with the family is the Lib Dem way.
