Looks like a facelifted S3 with 1.4L engine and leccy motor. Good for 218PS and 400NM in Sport mode

The Superb in the photo looks like an S3?

That’s because it is. It’s the face lifted Superb 3, the iV. Not the IV. :)

I guess Skoda decided thing weren’t complicated enough.

Lol, it's late and I should be going to bed, I read the OP's post as "Audi S3".

Of-course that's still the MK3 and not MK4, detail is in the small "i" as you mentioned. Good-night!

Superb MK4 EIS is planned for 2023... ;)

I was told that details of the PHEV will be available for the end of September. No indication of the release for demo vehicles or first customer cars.

The engine will be the 1.5 petrol plus an electric drive based on the former GTE models from VW but with improvements.

Really ? All stuff I've read has said it'll be old 1.4ltr unit like the Passat GTE

Things are looking up if it is 🙂😎 it's a better overall package ,. it'll be north of £40k so I reckon at least a few hundred in tax as cars over £40k are penalised

You also loose the boot which is one of main selling points of the Superb .......630ltrs down to around 520ltrs for the estate (from memory). Now it's about average ......

Not saying it's not a great idea ....just i wouldn't forfeit my dogs comfort in a huge estate for 31miles of electric. As they are one of the family members it would be a important decision when buying any car ...sad but true🐕

It is a 1.4 TSI and you're correct about the link to the GTE.  They have improved the system for the Passat facelift GTE (still a 1.4 TSI though) and it's that package which is going into the facelifted S3/i4 as well.

Good to know...Its a good package and tried and tested .....so should be pretty much bullet resistant..I'd just be worried about just having the 1.4 petrol pulling the Superb Estate along with a child and 2 X 40kg dogs in the boot ........ After the elecy had ran out what kinds economy do I expect from a 1.4 on a long run

Tbh the commute to work is covered.

But I reckon the dizzy height of nearly 60mpg are off the cards ..

If the 1.4 could muster in the low 40s it would be a different ball game

.

Need the figures to make a good judgement

  • 2 weeks later...

You can now configure a hybrid on the CZ configurator.

My L&K with most options came out at £38,000 not bad was expecting more.

Obviously would be more than that in the UK.

With a normal 1.5 TSI engine the total was £34000 so it looks like it is £4000 extra for the Hybrid which is about the same as most other manufactures seem to charge.

Looks like racingline have their finger on the pulse with it though
