Skoda Superb DPF Additive

Featured Replies

So I bought a skoda superb K&L 57 plate a few months ago. Needless to say it was from a dodgy dealership so the car has many problems anyway(making my way through fixing them). So had a diagnostic on it and a warning thing saying that the car needs to have the dpf addative refilled or something along them lines.. but I have taken it to two garages now to have a look and they've both said that the car doesnt have a dpf additive thingy, like the tank that you would fill with the additive, it doesnt have. I was wondering if anyone else had had this problem. Did it originally have one that was removed or is it a dodge fault code or something. And is it something I can have fixed or removed because it has a warning light for it so it always appear regardless of the cars condition.

The picture is the light that comes on (Ignore the check engine light, the engine isnt on. It's the light on the left, and the engine workshop!)

Thanks in advance <3

The light on the left is the glow plug light. Curiously, if you have a glow plug fault the engine management light will probably come on, and the glow plug light could be a fault with the EGR valve or some such issue. As regards the diagnosyics telling you that the DPF additive needs refilling.... I think someone is mistaken.

You need a diagnostic scan with VCDS to find out what the issue is, most garages will simply use a code reader which might give misleading results.

I had one of these it was a 2.00 with 6 speed box the tank is in rear boot .take spare wheel out and the fillers are on floor up to back I think skoda dealers have a special kit to refill it's not adblue it's something else .

Maybe the type that uses Eloys fluid, I suspect most garages won't have a clue as it's very early DPF technology
