Leak in drivers footwell solved

Featured Replies

Hi, just sharing that I have fixed a very wet drivers side footwell in my Jan 2014 Octavia mk3 and could not find any other similar problem in the forum (but apologise if there is and have missed it)

I have no sunroof. The leak was occurring when parked and gathering in the drivers side footwell. The heavier the rain the worse it got.

Caused by build up of silty debri behind drivers side inner wheel arch (the plastic one).  The picture does not show clearly how much debri there actually was.

Fixed by undoing the 2 inner arch screws facing footwell, prying back the inner arch and removing and cleaning the silty stuff plus leaves. Now waiting for it to dry but have used an absorbent cloth and stamping to squeeze out what I can.

The passenger side did not have any similar build up of debri when checked at same time.

Hope this helps somebody.
