Felicia

Featured Replies

Just had my Felicia 1.3 Classic MOT'd and serviced. Received a few advisories. Was told that parts are scarce and as such will be problematic at next service or repairs.

Can anyone obtain new dampers and coils full set etc ?

All advice appreciated thanks.

check autodoc you can find everything still,
get a reputable brand, dont forget to change top mounts aswell,

can i see your test results?

Car passed its MOT Test. Just advisories.

However due to ongoing back problems, getting in and out of the car and being unable to drive for long periods, am now selling the vehicle.

That's sad the felly is a good reliable car

I would think coils and springs for the Felicia are readily available, after 21 years of ownership I would say the Skoda Felicia is very reliable.

And if you do sell I think you would regret it, but you do say getting in and out and driving for long periods are a problem then that is another thing to consider.

All Best.

Hi there Mike,

Have had an Estelle, Favorit and now a Felicia.

All cars have been brilliant. Felicia is the best car that I have ever had, very reliable and trustworthy.

Dealer service agent said that parts are not readily available to remedy the MOT notifications etc.

So for what appears to be circa £300 repair bill for over 16 years worth of driving seems a pittance.

Guess that due to age, they do not want to work on it any more despite my being a loyal customer for three decades.

Do you know anyone who is on the look out for the Felicia?

Don't forget that you can always visit the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Do some tourism and buy all the parts you need first hand.

Ricardo,

That would be brilliant however I have back trouble so long distance driving, getting in and out of a car and sitting for long periods is not advisable.

Grateful to receive supplier details just in case, thanks.

So you have been a loyal customer for 30 years and they have serviced the car ? if that is so then you have been with the wrong garage find another.

Sorry I do not know of anyone that want's a Felicia.

I don't think the age of the car has anything to do with not wanting to work with it, not directly anyway, as the Felicia is a gloriously simple car to work with. The problem is the parts supply as the dealer stated. Other than service kits and brake discs and pads, VW Group have discontinued parts for the Felicia unfortunately.

I would think that a main dealer will be reluctant to use aftermarket parts even though there should be no issue getting hold of them. It is unfortunate but I don't suppose Felicia owners are the only ones in this situation.

Hi.  I can help with the physical installation of parts on your Felicia: obviously not while the "social distancing" rules are in place, but if the car has passed it's MOT then you wont need them immediately.

I live reasonably locally to you, and whilst I'm not a qualified technician, I've done every job you could think of to the four Felicia's I've owned: including clutch replacement, windscreens, timing chains, and shock absorber replacement!.

I don't have the use of a garage, only my driveway if you can get to it on weekends, and I can't promise, depending on the hours worked, that all my labour would be for free, but I will help keep your Felicia roadworthy if I can.

Sadly, I'm not in the best financial position at the moment, otherwise I might make you an offer for the car, because it's in great condition. But do message me if i can help.

Hello,

Getting the repairs done is not a problem.

Just wanted to get the MOT advisories sorted that is all. The car is solid.

Car just MOT'd and fully serviced.

I have spinal problems so getting in and out of it is becoming problematic.

Have reluctantly offered the Felicia for sale. It has been looked after and the dealer paper work is comprehensive.

Alas leaving the car for your attention if you work a variety of hours is unsuitable as I need the vehicle to get about, shopping etc.

Thanks again
