Can you get Isofix fitted?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm considering buying a mk1 estate with the L&K spec. I wondered if anyone could tell me whether you can get isofix fitted? I know some cars have this option where you just buy the isofix pins and you fit them yourself? However due to the age of the car, i'm unsure whether it would have that option? But as its the L&K top spec i wondered if it might?

Any help would be most appreciated!

Thanks,

Ben

I have a MkI L&K Hatchback and that has IsoFix. I believe it has been standard for all Octavias, but Parkers suggests that it was optional for some trims: https://www.parkers.co.uk/skoda/octavia/estate-1998/used-review/practicality/

Easy way to check, just lift up the back seat base and look. There are no channels or cutouts in teh seat cushions (at least, not on mine) but standard IsoFix chair arms will go through the gap between seat back and base, although you may need a bit of welly. Most seats come with a pair of plastic channels that hook on over the IsoFix loops and guide the arms in, which is SOOOOO much easier. They might put a slight dint in your seat cushions over time, but the little one's safety vastly outweighs that, right?

my old 2004 Ambiente spec mk1 had isofix.

no cut outs etc, just shove the base arms in listen for them to click on, job done.

It'll have isofix, just not the plastic guides you may be used to seeing... Put your finger / hand in and feel for the metal loops.
