What can anyone do to fix te ride height issue.

The car handles badly enough down there imagine how bad it would be if they jacked it up another 3" :S

That aint bad mate is it.

No not at all.

If I go with keeping the car I think it's something I would definately add.

mmm £250 is getting a little expensive for me at the moment (trying to sort out my house and garage at the moment....) :-(

I spent some time under the car at the weekend and I reckon I could get some made for less than £250 that would be DIY fit

Fitting at the rear is easy but the front is a little more tricky - I just need to have a trial one made up - watch this space.

Now that would appeal to me much more ;-)

The garage is in need of a whole new set of joists, and roof members, so my money is destined there at the moment!

Give me a couple of weeks and I'll see what I can do ;)

Sounds interesting, this space is staying watched :)

I'm going away for 2 weeks then I'll have a new house to play with - so realistically it's going to be some time before I get a chance to look at it again :(

No problem, don't suppose there are any ball park figures around for if you manage to come up with something.

No idea at the moment but it WILL be less than the OEM price.

The difficulty is securing the front of the guard. That is the part that will be difficult to make suitable for a DIY install as the Octavia doesnt have nicely placed holes like the Fabia and will need a bracket/frame to effectively bring the front mounting points down below the engine (the chassis rails are about 12" above the sump and there is a lot of stuff in the way.

I've seen an OEM guard so I know how Skoda do it but their bracket isnt a DIY fit.

I'll hopefully have a look when I get back and maybe get some prices worked out.
