KPH/MPH

Fox 2319. Hi, no, this car doesn't have the Matrix set up (not standard). My other half just told me that her phone isn't "ringing through the car", just been to check and can't find anything in "settings", called service dept at dealership and they suggested deleting the phones connected to the system then doing a unit reboot (holding the on/off button for 10 secs) and then reconnecting the phones, will check later if it's a "fix". Only problem we had previously with the phone was the connection kept "dropping off" but seemed to be solved with the updates carried out at the dealership.

I'm afraid I've joined the growing list of owners rejecting vehicles plagued with the technological problems. (It would be interesting to know how many have been rejected over recent months.......)

Out of curiosity, did you have a problem with Matrix LED lights? I need to test mine but that would mean finding some sort of essential journey which requires me to drive at night

I've still got problems with the Matrix LED lights!  I think someone on another post said that Skoda we're still working on that for driving on the left hand side ... 😞

Thanks for your update.  Our car is in on Wed 3rd to have the illusive 'Control Lever' replaced which apparently is the utopia of all things!!  I've told them I don't want the car back until everything is fixed so need to wait and see.

Hi again, likewise we have exactly the same problem.  My phone works OK but my wife's, whilst showing on Infotainment with contacts etc and you cam make calls,  there is no audio whatsoever either outgoing or incoming.

Turns out my sat navigation will only work in Kpm. Driving display in mph and distance but not on infotainment. How can people travel in the EU if they can't transfer to kph on main screen?

Will ring the dealership on Monday morning.

Anyone had any luck with the kph/mph yet?

For those that it is okay with, what version do you have. Mine is 1668.

Yes I have the same issue with KPH/MPH which I have reported several times to Skoda UK and each time they have insisted that they were unaware of it and it needs to go to the dealership for diagnostics!!!!!!!!!!  It has but that hasn't produced any benefit.

I'm in mph on the dash. You're not set to the wrong country or something daft are you?

I'm sure mine is all miles

I have mph on my dash but kilometers on the sat nav

Yes likewise.  Also whilst it shows MPH on dash I can't change that to KPH so not best for the Continent.  Also if I enter a route it shows and counts down in KPH.  Pretty special ain't it?

No it is set to good old Blighty.

I'll have to have a closer look at mine.

Car was into local dealership this week and had the 'Selector Lever' replaced to cure the other issues with the Front and Rear Assist plus the Rear Traffic Assist.  As yet these faults have not manifested themselves again.  However as regards the KPH/MPH issues they told me - 'This is not available on your car!'  As you can imagine I took issue with the absurdity of this.  Later I spke to the supplying dealership who were totally different and after checking with Skoda assured me that Skoda are aware and will be issuing a fix in due course which was more encouraging.

Nosnehm, Skoda UK assured me that the KPH/MPH solution is being looked at but no timescale given.

Following on from my last visit with the dealer, I had a call from someone else at Skoda UK. Apparently the km/miles on the sat nav and the mph/kph on the dash are known about by Skoda UK. They're working on them but there's no timescale.

There was another issue with remote lock / unlock using the app. Apparently, this used to work for some people when the MySkoda and Skoda Connect app were 2 different things. They merged them in Nov/Dec and broke the feature for anyone who didn't have it working before the update. There's a fix planned but there's no timescale.

Does anyone know if the dash / sat nav units are just issues with older build cars or is it something that also affects new build? I've told the garage that I want to reject the car (there's also issues with the matrix LEDs) but I'd still like to stick with an Octavia. Not even going to try if it's something that's going to drag on regardless of the age of the car

I have a full set of issues as referred to here, My car came off the line in March 20 if that helps.

Not found any serious issues with mine which I picked up January this year.

I collected my car on 1st September and it’s had miles on the sat nav from day 1. Very occasional front assist malfunction warning, but after a few seconds it seems to sort itself out with no need to switch off. Literally no other problems (fingers crossed). I haven’t bothered with the recall update for fear of rocking the boat!

Hi,

Had the obligatory call from Skoda today regards my MPH/KMH issue; "We are aware of the issue, but have no estimated date of fix"

Now, I don't want to start a conspiracy thing here but I had a quick trawl through the thread and have compiled this:

MuddyFunster (Me)

Part number 5E3035816   -     MPH/KPH Issue
H/W H56
S/W 1668

Nosnehm
Part number 5E3035816   -     MPH/KPH Issue
H/W H56
S/W 1668

OctaviaFirstEdit     -   MPH/KPH Issue

No Detail

FOX2319        -        MPH/KPH Issue
Part Number 5E3035816
H/W H56
S/W 1668

Matmacka       -     No Issue
5E3035816B
H/W H56
S/W 1668

All of us share a common part number for the unit and all of us share the same Software and hardware, whereas Matmaka has a later 'B' revision unit (5E3035816B) and does not suffer the issue. Now using my limited powers of deduction, and failing a larger sample size I would say (Tin foil hats on, everybody) that it points towards a hardware issue? I've seen other forum threads where it's discussed that 'such and such feature is only available on Hardware revision x' etc, I just wondered.

Could I ask if other forumites with and without the issue could post up the same detail from their car as above? -  I'll edit this post to reflect the data - just so that it can either a) blow me out of the water or b) raise a case with my dealer to physically change the hardware.

Cheers

Phil

Interesting - myS/W is 1664. Should I be contacting the dealer for an update?

Where do you find this information?

Yes, although if you suffer the MPH/KPH issue - it won't fix it.
