Hi, I’m wondering if the black plastic holder that keeps the fuel filter at the rear secure can be replaced as it looks like it’s part of the fuel tank.  I couldn’t really tell as the position I was working in was a bit awkward.

I was doing a fuel filter replacement and seen that the plastic around the filter had been cut and the old filter was crudely cable tied.

I'm assuming your VRS is a petrol motor?  If so, the parts diagram for an '08 petrol fuel filter is here.

I'm not sure if it can be replaced separately. It doesn't seem to be listed in that part listing. But I had to cut the retaining straps on mine to allow it to be removed. It is tight working if you only have the car on Jack and stands. I reused the fixing screw though and the cage still supports the filter. No cable ties for me but if you must and the ties are secure I wouldn't worry.

Thank you both for the replies. I’ve attached a photo as the diagrams don’t match what I have (unless I’m being blind).

I had the car at the dealership today for diagnostics as the TC, ABS and TPMS lights were on. I’m assuming that it’s fine as is, since it wasn’t mentioned on the vehicle health/condition check they do as part of the diagnostics.

I've found details of the fuel filter here but as yet no sign of the bracketry.

I did note, however, that the part number above (1k0201051k)  does not match the one from the 7zap parts diagram.
