Water Moving About - Any Ideas?

Featured Replies

When I start my Octavia up after sitting over night and drive the first 4 or 5 meters Iam sure I can hear water moving about. Or could it be the fuel pump / fuel lines?

I have looked in the spare wheel area of the boot and its bone dry as well as the left hand rear boot side and its also dry. Infact the whole boot is bone dry.

Are there any known areas in the car the hold water?

If you start the car but don't set off straight away do you still hear these noises (whilst the car is standing)?

Sorry for the delay.

Whilst the car is standing no I don't hear the noise. Just when I move off.

I hear it sometimes in my car following washing / rain. I think it is the water draining out the bottom of door channels. maybe front guard drainage as well.

Possibly your sills/doors have filled up with water and cannot drain.

I don't think so I think it depends if you are just off level a certain amount does not drain until you move off and change the level again.

Do you have a sunroof? could be the drain is blocked in the roof or at the door hinge end and it is moving around in the sunroof aperture

Great question but no. However I would agree that it does sound like a sun roof.

I had this in a Mazda 6 once. Worth checking the sill drains.

Check the scuttle under the windscreen wipers to make sure that leaves havent blocked the drain holes !
