Hi all

I have a 2008 1.4 petrol octavia that a few electrical things that have pop up recently,

NO 1  is that the the puddle light and interior lights won't come on when i press the key fob to open the car or when I'm in and the engine is running and i open the door it won't work also.

No 2   the volume on the radio will  turn up high and back down low when  i haven't even touched the controls.

No 3   the back left passenger window decided to work in the opposite direction ie when you pull up on the button the window will go down and vice versa this also happens when i hold down the key fob also.

No 4   The rear taillight fog is working on the opposite side to what it show be 

any help would really be appreciated 

 

Sounds like the confuser is... confused, possibly from a weak battery.

 

Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes.

I'v tried that and even put a new battery into the Car.

 

Perhaps the system needs longer to fully discharge, with the battery disconnected for 30 minutes insert the key and turn the ignition on and activate high beam, hazard lights, horn etc. to drain any reserves that could prevent a complete reset of the various controllers.

 

A diagnostic scan would be useful and may indicate bad electrical connectivity somewhere rather than a failed component, after all it is 12 years old, probably not an issue on older analogue vehicles but modern digital electronics can be temperamental if the power isn't good/signal is corrupt.

I disconnected the battery for 45 mins and reconnected it but its the same as before so im wondering if the confuser is... confused need to be replaced or what other options do i have .?????

Needs a full scan with VCDS really, to make any progress.
