Based on this post, it looks like the mount points are different on beam and IRS Octavia's:

So it's probably possible but you'll need to cut and weld new mounts whilst making sure they're properly aligned. Might be easier to switch cars if you really need IRS :)

Yes...

Sell beam  car, buy new car with IRS.

Question is more if you intend to keep the car are you ready for the cost of the many new rear bushes later in the cars life.

Seen a fair few focus and mk2 fail MOT and be scrapped due to the costs of all the perished bushes.

Just buy the car you want, cost to change will probably be 1,500 but, its better to have a standard car than a modified one for both maintenance & resale value. IIRC, the L&K, vRS & Scout had irs & were all available it the 2.0 tdi

You can’t on the Octy as unlike the Golf, the mount points aren’t there. I mean technically you can, but you’d have to be millimetre accurate with the pickup points and then there is the strength debate of a mount point that’s been cut off one car and welded to another. In terms of comfort there isn’t much in it, the IRS is better but the Octy 3 will never be considered a comfy car.
