2014 = MIB1 since the MIB 2 only entered production during 2015 (for 2016 MY?).

So yes it's a Columbus, but a MIB1.

My friend has a 5Q0 035 840 C device. MIB 2 Amundsen, likely, but could it do navigation?

It's an Amundsen, so all it needs is the correct Skoda SD card (note it MUST be a Skoda SD card not a 'vanilla' SD card).

I'm struggling with my Sat nav in Mt mkIII Octavia. I believe that it's an Amundsen MIB 1.

And comes with a 5E0051236C card.

The questions are:

1. How do I use Post codes for navigation?

2. How can I update the card?

Thanks.16507942197782783263447223873749.thumb.jpg.97da2bee60b072856694c9c81ec3433c.jpg

1. There is a button labelled 'PTCD' (in the lower left IIRC) that appears when you are entering a destination.

2. Map updates can be downloaded from the Skoda portal (or from direct links posted on here), make sure you download the Amundsen MIB1 update that includes the UK. I always save the contents of the SD card to a PC hard drive, then quick format the card (FAT32 with 2K cluster size) and having unzipped the downloaded file copy all the unzipped contents onto the SD card. Insert the SD card into either of the SD slots in the glovebox and wait - sometimes I had to remove and reinsert the SD card for the Amundsen to correctly identify it as maps.

I am very new here and just purchased mk3 2019 VRS 245HP. I have been reading through some threads and unsure if all my firmware is up to date. Can someone point me in the right direction, with a guide on how to do it.

If I use online update nothing seems to happen.

The SD card is navigation only not for updating the infotainment unit. You can login in to the Skoda portal with your VIN to update maps. You have to use Skoda format SD card for this, any other will not work.

You can update the firmware from

MSTD_EU_SK_P3420 (0435)

to

MSTD_EU_SK_P6230 (0490)

Hi everyone,

I have an Amundsen ? MIB ?

Device: P/N 5E 003 587 4A

H/W: 040

S/W: 0421

Unfortunately, due to being recent 2nd hand purchase, I don't have a Skoda official SD card.  Previous owner has probably lost it.

Out of interest, would the original card work in another vehicle? or would another official card work in mine?

I've just downloaded maps from Skoda site with my VIN and noticed the DBInfo.txt file contains P/N's etc. but none of them match my system. Is my unit a replacement?

Thanks for any help on this

The MAP cards are usually 16GB/32GB.
They can be used across the whole VAG group, they have a special CID embedded in each that the unit checks and then allows maps to be loaded.

I bet you will find many on the bay of E, and you will be golden.
